Conservative Republicans comprise no more than 10%-15% of the House. And even some of those are pontificating phonies. I’m not sure why anyone would be surprised at how things have played out in 2023-24.

I’d put Conservative in quotes. The New Gang of Eight doesn’t really know what Conservative means. It is not a suicide pact.

We could quibble on the percentage, but your statement is demonstrably true. However, one would expect more conservative votes in an election year to fool the yokels back home. I’m not seeing it, though.
