JERUSALEM — Israel’s war cabinet deliberated Monday how to respond to Iran’s unprecedented aerial assault without rankling allies and squandering an opportunity to build an international alliance against Tehran.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has asked the Israel Defense Forces to provide a target list, according to an official familiar with high-level discussions, who said Israel is mulling retaliation that would “send a message” but not cause casualties. The options include a potential strike on a facility in Tehran or a cyberattack, according to the official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the talks.

It wasn’t a regional thing at all.
The question was whether it was going to become a regional thing.
As you posted, it is rare that such an event in the middle east doesn’t lead to oil spiking on anticipation of it becoming a larger thing.
The traders were not concerned at all. Yet, I read that every crackpot in the region was going to get involved etc....as if these folks knew something that the traders didn’t know yet.
What is the truth? Bombed a consulate or a military building?
This is the CNN quote from an Israeli:
“A military spokesperson told CNN that Israel believes the Iranian building hit in the attack is a “military building of Quds forces” and not a consulate.
According to our intelligence, this is no consulate and this is no embassy. I repeat, this is no consulate and this is no embassy. This is a military building of Quds forces disguised as a civilian building in Damascus,” Israeli Defense Forces spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari told CNN’s Jim Sciutto. CNN cannot verify the claim.
April 1, 2024 on CNN website. Headline: “Iran accuses Israel of killing Iranian military commanders and others in airstrike on consulate in Syria.”
The planners of ham ass atrocities of 10/7 were killed by Israel in that attack. By planning the attack, they themselves committed Iran to war against Israel. All Iranian assets are forfeit in the war they started, but especially the war planners’ lives.
Good hunting, Israel!
He’s ham asses mouthpiece.
He exaggerates ham asses propaganda here, if you can imagine.
Iran has no business whining about an alleged attack on their embassy, which was not an attack on the embassy itself in the first place.
Remember the Iran hostage crisis when they attacked the US embassy in 1979-1981 and the attack on the Israeli embassy in Argentina which resulted in 1992 where 29 civilians were killed and 242 were injured.
“measured” = uh if you want measured you don’t use missiles and you don’t target Al Aksa. WaPo is spinning.
Uh, you mean like when Israel, using missiles in an unprovoked attack on the Iranian consulate, killing nine, without 72 hours notice that they were going to do it? If the Iranian legitimate invocation of Article 51 wasn’t measured, there would have been no warning and along with the throwaway drones a hundred hypersonic missiles would have destroyed both air bases and whatever else Iran wanted to take out, Israeli deaths be damned. YOU are spinning like a Whirling Dervish for Bibi.
the “consulate” was an IrGC hdqtrs - check the pics of the hit. and the honchos who met their virgins included the mastermind for 10/7 attack. so ‘unprovoked’ ? i think not. just the facts - no spin, Whirling or not, required.
Israel’s measured and appropriate response to Iran should consisted of 120 ballistic missiles, 170 drones and more than 30 cruise missiles aimed at military targets in Iran and the Hooties.
That is the number of weapons fired by Iran and Yemen at Israel according to the AP.
They used to call it an “eye for an eye” in the middle east.
