Well maybe Iran shouldn't have financed Hamas’ butchery on October 7, 2023. What did Iran think Israel would do? Israel isn't going to stop until Iran's war machine is crippled. That would include Iran's Embassies, Hamas, Hezbollah etc..
They were Iranian Generals, not your run of the mill embassy clerical staffers.
Israel is ‘playing for keeps’. I’m not sure the Iranians are ready to do that.... yet.
