According to Johnson somethings he learned in the “Skiff” caused him to change his mind. Since whatever he learned was highly classified, we won’t learn about whatever it was he saw.

Best guess is that, given all the anti-US, pro-Hamas demonstrations, some US citizen(s)/group(s) are in contact with ME terrorists.

Passing the amendment would mean that the communication between the putative US pro-Hamas people would be out of bounds to listen in on. And that would give them a freehand to pull of some terrorist attack, a la 9/11.

No it would not. They would only need to get a warrant.

Which side a US citizen supports (using legal means such as speech, publication, and petition) in a foreign war does not void that citizen's constitutional rights.

The United States is not a belligerent in this war and supporting the Palestinian side is not a crime.

Of course the government is not "allowed to listen in" on their communications without a warrant. Probable cause is necessary in all cases, and passing more unconstitutional laws doesn't make it right.

No, dammit, it means they would have to get a damn warrant to surveille a US citizen! Damn strange we were never overrun with terrorists before the FISA came into law. The gubment doesn’t care about foreign terrorist, unless they think they can get them legal status to vote for democrats. Johnson is a two faced little bastard. No wonder he got into the chair so slick, huh?

He learned the FBI has video of him buggering little boys. THAT caused him to change his mind.
