The Sharia colonization of the West continues.
According to a report out by Michael Dorgan and published by Fox News, the New York City government has agreed to a “preliminary financial settlement” of $17.5 million to settle a class action lawsuit brought against the city in 2018 by Jamilla Clark and Arwa Aziz, two Muslim women who were forced to remove their hijabs in order to get their mugshots taken after they were arrested for allegedly violating orders of protection (restraining orders). Now, also per Dorgan, the agreement still has to be approved by a district judge, but this is Manhattan so….
The settlement, should it go through, will make eligible “more than 3,600 people” for payouts, ranging between $7,824 and $13,125, with Clark and Aziz taking home $35k each.
As reported by Dorgan:
In response to the lawsuit, New York’s police department agreed in 2020 to let men and women wear head coverings during mugshots, so long as their faces could be seen.
‘This settlement resulted in a positive reform for the NYPD,’ said Nicholas Paolucci, a spokesman for the city’s law department. ‘The agreement carefully balances the department’s respect for firmly held religious beliefs with the important law enforcement need to take arrest photos.’
The New York City government claims to have a “respect for firmly held religious beliefs”? What about all those Christian Americans during the “pandemic” barred from worship services, forbidden from attending church functions, and fined and arrested if they violated the decrees?
What about the people whose genuine religious convictions preclude them from participating in experimental pharmaceutical pokes, who were coerced into participation to keep their jobs and provide for their families?

This is a good avenue for the NYPD to purposefully take these actions and bankrupt the city. This is how the cops can get back at the cop hating politicians and the voters who keep voting them in.

If this situation had happened before the 14th Amendment (14A) was ratified, the women wouldn't have had a case against the constitutionally unchecked 10th Amendment-protected powers of the police to make proper mug shots.

"Section 1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States [emphasis added]; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws."

My problem with the settlement is that the state actors who violated 14A protections should be paying the fine imo, not the taxpayers which probably include include the Muslim women.
The main problem with NYC taxpayers paying fine is this imo. It is actually corrupt Congress not doing its constitutional duty to make 14A-based penal laws that put some teeth into that amendment to discourage state actors from violating constitutionally enumerated protections.
In other words, state actors should be paying compensation out of their own wallets imo, possibly jail time too. Then state actors would think twice before exercising state power to violate such protections.
The next major step for Democratic and Republican voters to peacefully exercise voting power to put the corrupt federal government back into its constitutional Article I, Secton 8-limited power cage ...
Beloved but worthless incumbent lawmakers need to be replaced with Trump-supporting patriot lawmakers in November. We need an all-new patriot Congress to make sure that hopeful Trump 47 will not be a lame duck president from the first day of his second term in office, but will be supported by the new Congress to not only finish draining the swamp, but also do this. The new Congress also needs make 14A-based penal laws that discourage state actors from violating constitutionally enumerated protections.
