For the first time, Russia uses a massive thermobaric bomb in the Ukraine conflict

Russia has used a powerful thermobaric weapon, the ODAB-1500 bomb, for the first time in the conflict, hitting the village of Velyka Pysarivka in the Sumy region, reports the German tabloid Bild.

The explosion of the ODAB-1500 bomb is reported to have created a smoke cloud reaching a height of one kilometer. This Soviet-era thermobaric device releases a flammable liquid in aerosol form approximately ten meters from the target before ignition, resulting in a devastating blast.

In previous attacks within Ukraine, Russian forces had used smaller variants of the ODAB, ranging from 170 to 500 kilograms. The deployment of the 1.5-ton bomb in the Sumy region marked a significant escalation in firepower compared to the earlier models.

--- That sort of thing smells like our letter agencies doing “stuff and things”.

That the domain was registered in 2015 -- long before the war -- and continues to be hosted in the United States is well worth observing, as one sees with quite a number of other "Ukrainian" sites.

Ukraine (and Russia) have their own domain registrars and hosting services, even now. It is very interesting how many sites surrounding the Ukraine-Russia war have long be run out of our USA.

Almost like it was planned out from the start.

No, I think the Nazis are setting up their last line of defense. Panzerfaust behind poorly constructed obstacles, a few well-worn Tigers and old men and boys manning the trenches.

This should bring Putin some glee! Just like old times. All they have to do is advance more than 1,000 yds in two years, find the bunker and celebrate!

“The reality is, Russia will not back down. They have no issue with public opinion back home, and they have no problem with decimating their enemy. “

The issue back home is they think Putin is half fag, and they want much stronger and larger attacks !

Although I am not at all adept in computer languages and coding, I have learned particular respect for military men that are hard scientists, as they always seem to be able to adapt and lead in difficult and unusual engagements, particularly regarding flexibility of weapons and equipment, and logistics.

Often they seem to have already thought through creative ways of enhancing performance and getting their fellow warriors out alive.

They earn the stories of their creative solutions.

If the West (mainly USA, Britain, France, Germany) had not scuttled The Minsk Accords, there would have been no Ukraine War. Ukraine became a nation of its own, and thoroughly corrupt, post Soviet Union. Oddly no more corrupt than our nation. The Soviets had nuclear missiles in the Ukraine prior to their collapse. The Ukraine agreed to give them up and they went back to what is now Russia. That was a fatal error. They only agreed to this via promises from The West to defend them. We lied.

Putin started this war. The incompetence of The West is what allowed this war to start. The prelude to this war was the breakup of the Soviet Union, Ukraine giving up their nukes, and empty promises by The West to Ukraine.

I am not a Putin apologist. He is a very evil man. I am just speaking of historical fact.

Effectively correct.

Ukraine became a nation of its own, and thoroughly corrupt, post Soviet Union.

Again, effectively correct.

The Soviets had nuclear missiles in the Ukraine prior to their collapse. The Ukraine agreed to give them up and they went back to what is now Russia.

Again, effectively correct.

At this point it is necessary to note that the neither the Ukraine Government nor Ukrainians had any ability to use, deploy, adapt, control, modify, retarget, adjust, disarm or launch those nuclear missiles.

That was a fatal error.

Nope, it was a really good idea to demil and properly recycle the components of those missiles to Russia and the US.

They only agreed to this via promises from The West to defend them.

That was implied in diplomatic doubletalk as defense from both the East AND THE WEST.

We lied.

Again, effectively correct.

I am not a Putin apologist. He is a very evil man.

Didn't say you were, and qualification of posts is not required on FR.

Putin is no worse than Biden, Clinton, Clinton, Obama, Obama, Pelosi or Feinstein, he just gets worse publicity.

More of their projection campaign. 🙂👍

It seems like they are succeeding in the larger attacks from Russia & Russia gaining strength though.

Heever, I honestly believe that they are genuinely chagrinned by that evolution that they helped spur. For this was supposed to weaken them. Just the opposite has transpired.

Besides, they had already defected from the Russian camp, because they see a far more aggressive model that they idolize, in the Chinese CCP.
