"Our open Southern border is a feature of Democrat policy"

Wake up Skippy. Are you that naive, or have you been living in a cave? The illegal alien problem has been going on here for decades. It hasn't gone away just because of RAT policy. Congressional Republicans could have done plenty over the years during the sessions they had the majority, but like failing to protect people's ballots from voter fraud, they've been MIA on the issue.

"If you are not here to defend both, then you are not truly conservative, and might want to look for a "home" somewhere else."

LOL!! I've been here over 26 years. I'm going nowhere. What an arrogant, pompous individual you are. Do you own this site? Go peddle your stupidity to someone who might want to hear it. You sound just like a bossy Karen who can't stop telling people what to do with their lives.

"Wake up Skippy"??!
You seemingly have no clue as to what is really going on along our borders.
Do you know there are qualitative and quantitative differences between illegal immigration today under Biden as compared to Pres. Trump's term?
The numbers today are almost unimaginable -- circa 10 million under Biden, compared to just 2 million under Trump.

For another comparison, in 1992 the Federal INS estimated 3.4 million unauthorized immigrants, or about 1% of the US population.
In 2021 the INS estimate was over 10 million, or roughly 3% of total population.

In 2018, Yale University estimated around 20 million unauthorized immigrants, which could suggest that today's numbers are approaching 30 million, however, there are no estimates more recent than 2021 that I can find to confirm or refute any of these.

My point is that because there's a constant flow both in and out of the US, the reported arrival of 10 million unauthorized immigrants does not necessarily imply an illegal population 10 million higher than before.
And just to be clear, census numbers on which reapportionment calculations are made for US congressional districts, those are based on actual counts, not on estimates from places like Yale University.
And based on actual counts used for reapportionment in 2021, unauthorized immigrants totaled circa 11 million, or about 3% of the US population.
If that number today is 17 million, it would make unauthorized immigrants roughly 5% of the US population.
Yes, they are heavily concentrated in big city Democrat districts.

So, we're talking about the 115th Congress, when Republicans controlled both houses and with Pres. Trump in the White House.
During those years Republicans made several efforts at immigration reform, most of them supported by Pres. Trump, but none of which passed.
Perhaps the most significant were HR 6136 and HR 4760, both proposed by VA Republican Congressman Goodlatte, both supported by Pres. Trump and opposed by every Democrat, as being "too harsh", but both defeated because some Republicans, including Matt Gaetz, Steve King, Lou Barletta and even Ron DeSantis, presumably believed they were "too soft" on illegal immigrants, or so it appears.

Who was right and who was wrong?
As I see it, Pres. Trump was willing to support Republican immigration & border bills, so that's what was right.
Those who opposed Trump were in the wrong, imho.

Naw, I don't care what you do with your life.
But if you are here to tell us that the Constitution is dead and America is gone, and the United States is just rubble now, and all that's left is violence and destruction, then I'm here to tell you where you can stick such nonsense ideas.

Are we clear on this, or do you need it explained more?
