Like J. K. Rowling who is taunting them to jail her in Scotland for refusing to call a biological man a woman. The authoritarians are put in the spot of either following through with their threat or backing down. Powerful people can & should push illegal laws or orders.

Because that then provides ordinary people the courage to follow suit. Peaceful civil disobedience should be put into action more often than it is.

This is the only way to counteract these tyrants.

That is why he is doing it, and bravo for him doing it.
