New Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Whatley told the great and good of the New York GOP Thursday night that he wanted to get more Republicans to vote early via mail ahead of the November election — despite previous criticisms of the practice by presumptive nominee Donald Trump.
“In order to get out the vote, we’re going to have to work, double down, on registering those new Republican voters,” Whatley told the New York Republican Committee’s annual gala in Manhattan.
“We are going to use our technology, and advances in digital data to target those voters, and we’re going to go talk to them.”

Early voting is stupid. Voting without ID is stupid, Mail in voting is stupid, ballot harvesting is stupid.
Voting should be on election day with the only exceptions being people who are unable to make it and can absentee vote with reason. (I am one of them due to very frequent business travel)
That all said, Early voting, No ID voting, mail in voting and Ballot harvesting are being done. We have zero reasons to not take advantage of all of these until sane people get into power and put a permanent stop to it.
Trump says He wants one day voting. In person. This guy wants early voting by mail. Even by those people who always vote in person on election day. Not exactly on the same page.
Either you fight the Democrats fire with fire or you get dominated by them using everything to their advantage.
Refusal to adapt to the reality on the ground in these elections is a surefire way to continue to lose them at the ballot box.
One is a policy goal - the other is in charge of GOTV. The one in charge of GOTV must operate within reality, not the reality in which you hope to one day have. Much different things.
It’s worth pointing out that each state has its own rules and procedures. I don’t pretend to be an expert on what those are, but it’s at least conceivable that focusing on early mail-in ballots might make sense for one state and not another. Hopefully the new RNC team is developing a state-by-state strategy rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. I’m cautiously optimistic that they’re doing so. Whatley has a reputation for paying attention to the details and also being quick to take legal action if he sees that procedures are being violated.
I heard somewhere recently, I think from Rich Baris, that the new RNC team has reached out to Scott Pressler and are involving him in some way. I don’t know much more than that.
Whatley is Co-Chair with Lara Trump. Scott Presler will be in charge of enhancing turnout, especially by legal ballot harvesting like Dems do.
The reality is that a vote in person on election day is way harder to steal. That is the only reality you need consider.

You’re wrong. Get the votes in early, bank the votes. Own the ballots. This is the way. If 2020 and AZ 22 should teach them anything it’s that election shenanigans will be in play. Bank the vote early.
And one of those reasons people don’t make it on Election Day?
DEAD.
Hence why it is wrong to let dead men walking vote in September. Why should those who died by early Nov have their votes counted?
People 200 years ago made it on the one day. I think in this modern age, we can do it.

Lara Trump has said she is bringing Scott Pressler into the RNC.
The guy has long hair and looks like he just stepped out of San Francisco’s Haight-Asbury district circa 1968.
However, under that long mane of hair is a brilliant guy when it comes to election strategy.
Scott has claimed that 4.5 million gun owners didn’t bother to vote in 2020. That is outrageous.
Mr. Pressler has also said that if every gun owner / hunter in Wisconsin voted, Wisconsin would be a permanently red state. Wow!

Yes, his appearance may not be very impressive, but I agree with your assessment. He’s very sharp and very motivated. I’m glad the RNC is trying to utilize his talents.
In Texas early voting in person requires a real ID. In NY there are congressional races that the GOP can win, and those is important, but Biden is going to get the NY EVs. For Trump v Biden, the swing states are what matters.
