Israel faces the prospect of a U.S.-backed “color revolution” in the middle of its war against Hamas terrorists in Gaza as the opposition backs street protests against government, and a key cabinet minister has demanded new elections.
A “color revolution” is a coup d’état accomplished through mass protests targeting the existing government, elected or not, with the assistance of the media — and, usually, with backing from foreign powers, including the United States.
For the six months since the October 7 terror attack, Israel had seen remarkable unity, with protests — mostly centered in Tel Aviv — against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s judicial reforms — a distant memory.

That is EXACTLY what is. The CIA has done many of these successfully. For example, Libya, Egypt, Indonesia, Ukraine etc., not to mention many in South and Central America. I am glad that many in Israel are aware of it. Finish Hamas, Hezbollah, and the head office of Iran and the color revolution goes pale. Israel has been a target since the Obama Administration.

Will they? Is there anyone who is both a staunch supporter of Israel's right to do anything in order to create a safe buffer zone around their country also opposed to Russia doing likewise?

The track record of the US sponsoring color revolutions is debatable at best, most of the time the countries end up in complete chaos and the exact opposite of what the goal of the revolution was ends up happening.
If anyone logically looks at it and asks the questions, is Libya better off with or without Qaddafi, what would be happening in Iraq if Saddam was still in power, and you go on and on with countries the US has left in complete chaos, if the US leads a color revolution in Israel, I am afraid for the future of the country. If anyone can lose Israel, it would be Joe Biden.
The US track record for overthrowing governments is pretty good, it’s what comes afterwards that looks like one failure after another.
