I don’t know what you mean by narrow minded purist conservatives? This is confusing to me. I think you are a DeSantis supporter and that’s cool. I was until I saw how he funded his Presidential campaign and who he aligned with in that campagin. Over 90% anti Trump or Never Trump members of the Republican Party.
I lost respect and trust. Its not purist to admit this. What is sad for me is the number of those infected with innate stupidity who allow the elites in their party to lead them around by a ring through their nose. I left the Republican Party years ago because fool me once shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me. And considering what is leading your Party in DC, that choice is vindicated almost weekly!
Anyway those who keep voting for these corrupt liars, and are happy with just bitching and moaning when the knife is twisted in their backs obviously subscribe to a different view of the world than I do. Once lied to, once betrayed, that trust is gone. Evidently Gov DeSantis is discovering that very fact considering his blitz of PR and conservative legislation. He, like the corrupt Rinos in DC, obviously believes there are plenty of stupid people left in the Republican Party in the state and nation to buy the bullshit.
