PLEASE read my posts 929 & 944 to see my thoughts and feelings on how I think and feel it has been WRONG to send abortion back to the capricious votes of the states.
IMO, and I loath criticizing my favorite POTUS, this was a NON statement—he did NOT actually announce any policy.
Rather disappointed right now—had hoped he would come down on no later than 15 weeks, preferably 12!!☹
I must add that I’m now holding my breath for the reaction from pro-life advocates, Evangelicals and MAGA pastors.
RPOTUS’ emphasis on people have to do what’s right IN THEIR HEARTS certainly HAS NOT worked out since the Dobbs ruling with ALL 8 state ballot votes codifying unrestricted abortion rights=baby killing at any time!!!
Worst of all, abortion rates have spiked over the past two years.
IMO, BAD enough should have been left alone in hindsight!!!
What I took from his statement is that he did not personally believe that abortions should happen except like Reagan, for rape, incest or the health of the mother.
It is a state’s issue.
That’s where it always should have been.
The SC had no business making an abortion law.

I have often taken a contrarian view, but I just am profoundly troubled at how the unborn are discriminated against under the Equal Protection Clause (14th Amendment) soley based upon which state into which they would be born.
Finally, it breaks my heart that my state promotes unfettered access. Also, it should be noticed what can happen in Virginia, which went from the ghastly practice of Northam to electing Youngkin. Innocent unborn babies ought not be subjected to these volatile political swings.
Hopefully, I can resist any further posts on this, especially since I obviously hold a distinct minority view.

I cherish expressing myself here on Free Republic and sharing my views with my FRiends.
Perhaps, I should take another look at why President Trump and most pro-life Conservatives believe that abortions should be dealt with at the state level.
I just pray that the rates at least slow down soon.
Finally, above all us at this point, I hope we don’t lose FLORIDA over this come November!!!
