Two years after Russia invaded, Ukrainian forces are outgunned. Russia has a 6-to-1 ammunition advantage along the front lines. If this persists, Vladimir Putin’s ambitions will become a reality.
The imbalance in weapons supplies is a major failure of Ukraine’s allies in the West. North Korea delivered as much artillery ammunition to Russia in one month as the European Union has been able to deliver to Ukraine in one year. Russia produces three million shells a year, while the U.S. and Europe combined are able to produce only 1.2 million for Kyiv. Despite the vast economic might of the democratic world, we are being outproduced by an arsenal of autocracy in Russia, Iran and North Korea.
If Western allies don’t immediately ramp up the supply of weapons and ammunition to Ukraine, the future will be bleak. If Mr. Putin isn’t stopped in Ukraine, it will mean decades of instability and conflict in Europe. We need to wake up to that danger and put our economies on a war footing.

We need a war footing on our own soil, with troops on the borders.
“There have been rumors in DC of reintroducing the draft by the end of summer.”
Ha good luck with that.
In exchange for giving up its nuclear arsenal, Ukraine initially sought legally binding guarantees from the US that it would intervene should Ukraine’s sovereignty be breached. But when it became clear that the US was not willing to go that far, Ukraine agreed to somewhat weaker – but nevertheless significant – politically binding security assurances to respect its independence and sovereignty which guaranteed its existing borders.
That’s why we’re giving Ukraine money and weapons. We saw that Russia has violated the Bucharest Memorandum where Ukraine had given up their nuclear weapons.
The only action the US could take was to have conversations.
That is not just “somewhat weaker” assurance. It is “no” assurance.
America’s borders first!
United States and the Russian invasion of Ukraine
But here we are. We have intervened in Ukraine to rescue the government in Kyiv.
This putz is a former head of Denmark and a NATO head. He needs to get his own country to pony up the munitions or STFU. We didn’t lose a thing in Ukraine OR Denmark.
Nothing. NOT ONE. It’s all emotional, financial and leftist meddling. If you’re FOR fighting this war, you’re on BIDEN’S side. Think about that.
A lot of the Military Contractor workforce are military veterans/retirees. This should be directed at the executive level having to send their children.
You don’t see any war issues coming up again for the West? That part of history is over?
Before Russia started the biggest European War since WWII, we all knew the biggest military threats to America and the West were China and Russia, what ended those threats?
Thanks for posting this.
Normally I would agree, but in this case I believe ANYONE that Earns their living from TAXPAYER funds should be sent first.
Yes
As bad as the US in Afghanistan?
Neocon pap for the scaredy cats. The west’s biggest problem is the people running their own governments.
“The neocons and their evil war mongering plans are the danger we need to wake up to.”
Setting that aside for a moment . . . a top priority for the United States right now is to increase the production of nitrocellulose.
Rebuilding our ammunition stocks - even if peace breaks out - is expected to take years at the current rate.
The Radford Army Ammunition expansion of nitrocellulose production is years behind schedule and still not on-line.
There is a real possibility the U.S. will have to rely on Chinese nitrocellulose to make U.S. munitions. Yes, I read that is currently illegal.
And since Georgia-Pacific closed its only plant making A-5 cellulose there is not enough of that material to surge the production of nitrocellulose.
To my knowledge there is only one remaining plant in the U.S. capable of making A-5 cellulose from wood, the most plentiful supply of A-5 raw material; a single source.
For lack of one nail a war was lost.
Russia could always give Ukraine back the Nuclear Weapons that were stationed there.
The only way for the Russian advance to stop is for Ukraine to SURRENDER and agree to remain a neutral country.
It would take more than a year for the West to come close to matching Russia's manufacturing capacity and Ukraine will lost tens of thousands more men and a considerable amount of territory in that year.
And, never mind, Ukraine is low on manpower and no amount of ammo or missiles is going to solve that problem.
Nor do the citizens of this country want to waste more money on a war that has nothing to do with our national security.
