So says MSN deriving from NTSB. We will not hear from the Pilot(s), until official hearing for facts. This is ear droppings from some NTSB person... a Ms. somebody. Sorry, you’ll have to force me to Trump Bond that payment, as a bigger question is why this bridge had never been fortified against collision as, say the Sunshine State bridge was in FL. That accident was with a phosphate ship losing control in a gale common to the waters there. A tragedy that took out a Greyhound bus with passengers.

The FSK bridge opened in 1977. The Sunshine Skyway Bridge allision was in 1980.

referring to the rebuild of Sunshine Skyway bridge. Rebuilt with hardened pylon barriers/bollards on each side of the main centerline of the bridge- the crossunder portion used by major ships. In any case-all of our major port bridges should have been hardened ever since 9-11. Notwithstanding potential harbor blockage by sinking, which btw was a secondary goal of the jap empire to obstruct the channel in Pearl Harbor in 1941- not a new idea iow.
