Curious that someone was filming this, starting before it happened, with a handheld video
Ship was probably moving slow, so there would be a lot of noise from the initial contact, well before the bridge came down
But the weather was good - clear, low wind, calm waters - and the ship had a huge gap under the bridge that they could have passed thru ... yet still hit the support ...

Listening to WMAL Baltimore radio. They say the ship was having electrical power problems even before it left port.
