I saw several vehicles sliding into the river....you can follow their lights

Agenda-Free TV is monitoring scanners. Authorities are planning to send divers into the water shortly as well as an un-manned submersible. Authorities are telling ships to stay away from area beneath the bridge so as not to interfere with rescue efforts.
I don’t understand why every bridge that has large ship traffic transiting beneath it is not protected by bridge pier fenders. The supports for this bridge looked completely unprotected. Makes no sense.
Right!! 1st thing I thought.
Why isn’t there “Bridge Bumpers” all around the pillars???
Ditto that. I’ll be surprised if they can get it done in 5 years.

There are a couple of vehicles that crossed maybe a minute before, you can see them speed up near the ship, but it might be because they slowed for construction.
The ship lights maybe went on and off a couple of times.
The Dali weight and momentum easily displaced the bridge support’s foundation . . . before the ship struck the bridge support itself.
I was thinking the same thing. If past is prologue, I wouldn’t hold my breath. He’s got too much important DEI business to attend to. Plus, I’m not sure if he’s back yet from family leave.
From the video, it appears traffic in One Direction.
“Is our Secretary of Transportation on the scene?”
some things are better not answered. the responses to that question might get grotesque considering who we are discussing here!
Bridge pier protection:
“There are a couple of vehicles that crossed maybe a minute before, you can see them speed up near the ship, but it might be because they slowed for construction”
The video I just watched started probably 5 minutes before the collapse. Prior to the collapse there was numerous cars and maybe 3 or 4 big rigs that crossed just in time.
Thanks for reminder
“BUT LET’S GIVE ANOTHER 10 BILLION DOLLARS TO ISRAEL!”
Looks like it turned to the pillar.
“ At least seven vehicles, including at least one tractor-trailer-sized vehicle, have collapsed into the water, Baltimore City Fire spokesman Kevin Cartwright confirmed with WTOP. He added that a dive team was deployed to help those in the river.” https://wtop.com/baltimore/2024/03/key-bridge-in-baltimore-collapses-after-hitting-large-boat/
