Howdy, Kathy.
I see melting continues up there, even without sunshine. It would be great if those clouds would move out because there should be a good aurora “dance” tonight. I’ve seen a couple of decent ones recently over Anchorage but tonight should be better. GO AWAY, CLOUDS!

I spent 3.5 years there from ‘90 to ‘93. Lived in Manhattan Beach and enjoyed it immensely. Best assignment of my career.

It sounds like you got through the front in good shape, at least. No damage and no power outages. I hope I’m that lucky tonight. The wind’s rattling the windows as I type.
Let’s not talk about yards. LOL I’m doing my best to ignore mine but can’t for much longer. The rain we’ve had has the grass and weeds growing like crazy. I’m not ready to mow so soon!

Since you enjoy mowing, you need to move down here! You’re more than welcome to mow my yard and Champ is a fun mower to operate. LOL The yard’s just lumpy and it beats my back to death.
But yep, it’s that time of year again.
I’m doing ok. Just ready for the next few weeks to slide by so we’ll be back in gear at the military museum. It’s been a loooooong winter.

Joined the USAF in 1957 at recruiting station on Hollywood boulevard. I was never stationed anywhere near LA. during my 4 years. So fortunate.

Are you wearing earplugs so you can’t hear the wind? :-)

March 26
Missing the Basics
You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God.
Matthew 22:29For decades, McDonald’s ruled fast food with their Quarter Pounder burger. In the 1980s, a rival chain cooked up an idea to dethrone the company with the golden arches. A&W offered the Third Pound Burger—larger than McDonald’s—and sold it for the same price. Even more, A&W’s burger won numerous blind taste tests. But the burger bombed. Nobody bought it. Eventually, they dropped it from the menu. Research revealed that consumers misunderstood the math and thought the Third Pound Burger was smaller than the Quarter Pounder. A grand idea failed because people missed the basics.
Jesus warned of how easy it is to miss the basics. Religious leaders, scheming to trap and discredit Him during the week He was crucified, posed a strange, hypothetical scenario about a woman who was widowed seven times (Matthew 22:23–28). Jesus responded, insisting that this knotty dilemma wasn’t a problem at all. Rather, their problem was how they didn’t “know the Scriptures or the power of God” (v. 29). The Scriptures, Jesus insisted, aren’t first intended to answer logical or philosophical puzzles. Rather, their primary aim is to lead us to know and love Jesus and to “have eternal life” in Him (John 5:39). These are the basics the leaders missed.
We often miss the basics too. The Bible’s main aim is an encounter with the living Jesus. It would be heartbreaking to miss it. .
Reflect & Pray
How do you miss Scripture’s basics? How can you return to the basics . . . to Jesus?
Dear God, sometimes I get lost even amid good things. Please help me.

Hey there, radu!
It FINALLY stopped. It’s so quiet out there, and it feels so good. The sky is clear, and that moon is stunning!
Has that wind invaded your part of the world now? Hope it doesn’t last as long as it did here. I was ready to scream! LOL! Literally.

Yay! A big relief for you and the kittehs.
The wind’s roaring here and rattling the windows tonight, keeping the cats in a twitch. The sound doesn’t bother me that much. I just keep wondering how much is going to be blown out of trees THIS time.

It has been a relief for them. I didn’t see much of them all day, but they seemed less twitchy [LOL] tonight when I fed them.
It was cooler all day today, and right now it’s “only” 51. That’s chilly for the last part of March, but this gal isn’t complaining. It’ll be hot too soon as it is.

Cats don’t seem to care much for wind. Mine didn’t when they were allowed outside. Now that your wind has died down, your cats can spend the night roaming in the bright moonlight, checking their territories.
We’ll cool off Wed. once the cold front’s completely through. But the weekend will be nice and warm again. We have a couple of nights in the 30s to get through before then though. brrrrr

We'll just get down to the mid-40s, which is about right considering our latitude compared to yours. Friday it's supposed to be 81. Wheeeeeee....🎢

At least our lows will be upper 30s this time rather than at the freezing mark. We’ll have mid to upper 70s this weekend and that’s perfect, especially with no rain. Perfect weather for Easter.

That will be great for Easter. One year we had snow for Easter and it was in April. LOL! Not fun when all the little girls wanted to wear their new spring dresses to Sunday School.
It’s supposed to be 87 here. Now, that’s nearly TOO warm! For me.

Ugh! 87 IS a bit too warm for this time of year.
There’s a chance we could hit 80 next Monday but we’ll see how that goes.
We had snow on my birthday a few years ago and that’s in the middle of April. I was not amused.
Right now, it’s starting to rain a little and there’s some lightning flashing - - up in the clouds. *sigh* Heavier stuff to the west so maybe I’ll get a decent light show before I go to bed. LOL
