Kaine: Russia, Iran wouldn’t tell US ‘if they had news that there was going to be at terrorist attack’

Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.) said Sunday that the difference between democratic and authoritarian regimes is that Russia and Iran would not tell the United States if there was going to be a terrorist attack in the U.S.

Host Shannon Bream asked Kaine on “Fox News Sunday” whether the southern border can lead to “real danger” within the U.S., pointing to the attack in Russia that has left more than 133 dead in a Moscow concert hall. He first reiterated that the U.S. warned Russia about this kind of attack earlier this year.

What a stupid comment. Besides the fact that Russia did warn the U.S. of a terrorist threat, what does ‘democratic & authoritarian have to with it? If Iran were completely democratic, but still viewed the U.S. as the ‘Great Satan’, I doubt they’d take the time to warn us about anything.

Actually is was offically done by the FSB, with significant detail and more than a year and a half before the Boston Marathon Bombing.

The Russian government warned U.S. authorities that Boston Marathon bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev was a violent radical Islamist more than a year and a half before the April 2013 bombing, but American authorities missed multiple chances to detain Tsarnaev when he was traveling to and from Dagestan for terror training.
