As turmoil continues within the House Republican caucus, former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) appeared on Fox News Channel’s “Jesse Watters Primetime” and weighed in on that turmoil and the decisions his successor, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA), is facing.
According to the former California lawmaker, the beginning of the end for Republicans came when Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) led his ouster last year.

Still too many neocons and RINOs in the GOP that ultimately represent the Democrats.
Republicans must stop electing quislings.
What use is a “republican majority” that facilitates every Democrat agenda item? Drop dead Kevin, no one is buying your BS!
What is he griping about. We now have McCarty 2.
A woman scorned, knows no bounds!!!
The Republican majority has dwindled from what it was at the time because people like McCarthy decided to resign from office and because the GOP was suicidal enough to oust Santos.
Hey McCarthy, STFU you ignorant, arrogant, egotistical, narcissistic, self centered pile of human excrement...
Go away...
Go far away...
And stop talking, your complete lack of intelligence is showing...
Its all one party.
Are there significant degrees of RINO? Ones that vote mostly with Republicans and always on the most crucial things? I’m thinking of they type of Republucan needed to get elected in a purple leaning blue state and how Buckley used to say vote in the most conservative republican who can actually get elected in that district rather than lose to a Dem who will ALWAYS be worse and almost never vote with Republicans. Thoughts?
It’s an important question and point.
Let it Go Kevin, you’re embarrassing your family.
>> ... vote in the most conservative republican who can actually get elected in that district rather than lose
Good point regarding what’s possible in a Blue state, but I’m not sure the Romney half-measures dilemma served us well.
Looking passed the irrationally cathartic election of 2008, would we be better off today if we refused to elect the Romney, Ryan, McCarthy types in both the General and Midterm elections? That’s an impossible question to answer conversationally, but no doubt aggregates of the Congressional voting patterns since then might give a clue. I’d might consider looking into that if I had nothing more serious to do.
The Swamp is the majority in Congress
how is Johnson any different than this puke
Yeah, Paul Ryan, Kevin McCarthy, Mitt Romney, Chris Christie, Mitch McConnell, Lindsey Graham, Liz Cheney, etc. had nothing to do with it.
It’s all Matt Gaetz’s fault. / s
Thank you for your thoughtful post. I still think William F. Buckley Jr’s advice holds. To elect the most conservative republican who CAN WIN in the district they are running in. Please if anyone has better suggestions speak up. Electing Democrats instead seems worthless.
Yo mc carthy !You followed the footsteps of ryan, boehner,
and the rest before them.Whores all.
Johnson became a dissapointment more and more every day.
Piled on more debt every chance they got.
I don’t wish any of them well...
What a delusional PO0bama.
Who knew he was a 12 year old mean girl? He’s absolutely gleeful at the sight of the House imploding.
Sore Loserman!
When does Kevin start his new jobs at CNN/MSNBC. ?
