Odd thing about me is when I read about Zoroastrianism in Persia I was strongly drawn to the epic battle of giant good versus giant evil.
The Judeo Christian tradition opposes that. But I see it more than ever now.
In a retrospective documentary about the movie The Exorcist one man said “The problem we have is that the American public saw the film and took it to mean the power of Satan is immensely strong and has to have good somehow gathered desperately against it as an equal. As Christians we don’t believe in that equality.”
Even if it’s not really Esther and Mordechai, the area has graves of famous rabbis and holy men, and is a place of pilgrimage.
Another claim is that Esther ordered that her body be transferred to the Land of Israel and the tomb is near Mt. Meron in north Israel.
I’d be afraid the extremists only want the site be changed from private to public so they could go in there and damage it.
