Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) passed a massive $1.2 trillion government funding plan despite the objections of the majority of House Republicans, violating the Hastert Rule and crossing the Rubicon into dangerous territory for the future of his speakership.
House Republicans enacted the longstanding rule to prohibit Republican Speakers from colluding with Democrats to pass legislation. But Johnson sent the bill to the Senate despite the objections of 112 Republican colleagues, with only 101 Republican votes in favor, although Johnson and his leadership team applied significant pressure.
Johnson also broke a House rule intended to give lawmakers time to review legislation before a vote. The 1,000-plus page spending bill was presented to members before 3:00 a.m. Eastern on Thursday morning, less than 36 hours before the vote.

...are worthless plants.
"Elections have consequences"...
They (elections) become irrelevant when there is no REAL opposition to what is bringing the Republic to it's knees(debt, corruption, perversion, greed...)by a sect of evil/power-hungry financiers.
Then again(in a TRUE "Republic")...it (government) is not supposed to have that type of all-encompassing power.
It is "the governed" that are supposed to do that.
America will continue to die...if "the governed" continue allowing themselves to be "governed"...by passing OUR responsibilities on to these bought and paid-for cretins who call themselves "representatives of the pee-pole".
Bottom-line...it is OUR laziness and irresponsibility that will doom us.
The "masses" generally get the government they deserve...by sitting on their "collective" arses, letting "government" do what THEY think best for them.
Yeah, history has shown...good luck with that.
Speaker Mike Johnson got schmoosed and hosed dump him before he causes more problems.
Johnson must be forced out, not only as Speaker from the House.
I agree with you take.
We don’t need to go without a speaker for a lengthy debate.
We could easily end up with someone worse right now.
It would be a distraction and media fodder.
I had my reservations as well
The prayer thing fooled me for a second
This was really a dumb move on Johnson’s part. Too bad we had lefty Republicans blocking Jim Jordan for Speaker.
Thanks for posting this link.
The 101 RINO globalist skanks all need to be primaried.
