Correction the Metropolitan Police of DC’s Chief of Police is a black male (entire police experience inside the MPD of DC), selected by Mayor Muriel Bowswer the highly political pal of Nancy Pelousi. He was sworn in on Jan 2, 2021. His screed on the “insurrection” is inside this PDF file put out by the Metro police— whose job it is NOT- to protect the Capitol (they were asked to help by the Capitol PD, since Pelousi refused the National Guard of DC— who at the time answered to President Trump. The only National Guard Unit in the country that does not have chain of command to a State Governor, but rather to the US President of the Military District of Columbia. Pelosi of course is now proven to have refused the prior offer for 10K Nat Guard officers to deploy in DC).
