As Donald Trump faces a Monday deadline to post a $454 million bond in the civil fraud case against him in New York, insiders said he may be weighing a little-discussed option: Do nothing.
The ex-president reportedly has been struggling to raise the cash for the bond — either from banks or wealthy friends — with his lawyers claiming on Monday that it was a “practical impossibility.”
While some reports have raised speculation that Trump may “go nuclear” with a Chapter 11 filing to protect his prize real estate assets across Manhattan, experts said bankruptcy would create unwelcome complications as the 2024 election season comes to a head.
“He’s been there and done that,” one insider close to Trump said, dismissing the prospect of a Chapter 11 filing.

The bigger threat to anyone who takes over Trump's properties is this:
1. The existing tenants and subtenants have an "escape clause" in their leases that allows them to move out if the Trump Organization is no longer the owner and/or the building is no longer named "Trump Tower."
2. The Trump Tower property has a binding agreement in place that says it must keep the name "Trump Tower" for a period of time that is likely measured in decades.
3. Donald J. Trump has a binding agreement in place that says any future owners of Trump Tower must pay him an annual licensing fee of $500 million to keep his name on the building.
Go sort that out and see what kind of nightmare a hostile takeover of Trump Tower might entail.
And this is a direct assault on the 8th amendment of the constitution and will cost New York dearly. Furthermore if she does not file charges against every developer she is practicing selective prosecution, and racial discrimination.
I’m no lawyer and know barely anything when it comes to defense against prosecution, but I’ve never heard of someone having to pay a fine first before they are ALLOWED to appeal. And isn’t there a law against excessive fines? It just seems utterly ludicrous. What if they made the fine $900 quadrillion dollars and he must pay it before he can appeal?
Overstating the value of his net worth? What are you talking about? His “net worth” had nothing to do with any of it. He was charged with overestimating the value of specific properties, in specific documentation, regarding those properties, nothing to do with his overall wealth, which clearly remains unknown.
And apparently, the amount of exact equity he has even in those specific properties in question was never specifically investigated, either. My understanding is they took Trump’s statements of his property value at face value, but then ruled that even IF he had 100% ownership, they wouldn’t reach that value. Most prominently were the exaggerations of square footage, which again have nothing to do with actual equity.
If you can find ANY reports that his actual equity in those properties was ever actually investigated, or especially determined, I will gladly concede the point, but I don’t think that information is currently known by the court, or pretty much anyone outside of his organization. There were even reports of him very recently re-organizing his assets as well, in order to hide/protect them from seizure, which would factor into this now, even IF they did previously investigate it.
“me too, BUT it seems that evil just keeps winning and winning and winning- conservatives in congress appear to always be powerless to stop the tyrants- for whatever reason though God is allowing it- thankfully though there is still a substantial remnant restrainer population that prevents all out evil from running unopposed”
God allows it because God has historically ‘given us over’ to our apparent deviant desires... and this nation, via widespread (majority) approval of abortion and homosexual activities... has gone the way of Sodom & Gomorrah. I give God credit for not smiting us as he did those two cities. But His patience is probably wearing thin and I’m not ruling out that “ending” altogether. My/our only consolation will be .... at least we TJ Christians (Team Jesus) won’t end up in the same place that they’ll spend all eternity in (thank God).
I differ on that-
[[has gone the way of Sodom & Gomorrah.]]
Not really- those two were entirely wicked- no righteousness could be found at all there- we still have a very sizeable remnant restrainer group of Christians, and many unsaved who also hate the evil of the extreme left- the us is still majority ‘Christian’ (though some who call themselves Christians aren’t really )-
I think God is still pleased with those who haven’t sold their souls to Satan - and who serve him faithfully- There are some nations that are so wicked that they put our nation to shame, but God hasn’t wiped them out yet- likely because they too have a sizeable Christian population even if they have to be underground
Soddom and ghomorrah were as wicked as those “in the days of Noah” where their thoughts were continually evil day and night- there wasn’t an ounce of righteousness then either (except of course for Noah and family)
How the hell do you do that without knowing how much equity he had in any given property?
The Jesus defense. Let’s see how a Christian response plays out. It sounded like Trump has resigned to his fate in New York during his Florida presser.
And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also. - Matthew 5:40
He should gofer it . Let James and NY state have it. Let ‘em stuff a pack of illegals into it.
Every other real estate billionaire in the northern hemisphere will be behind him 110% by the end of the week

You have made a valid point. I stand corrected and live in hope that God will spare those of us that feel helpless against the evil that seems to be encroaching upon our lives.
Make it into a homeless shelter for illegal invaders. See how the uptown crowd likes seeing the reality of their ideology.
As quite a few here have already stated, he does not need to post a bond to pursue the appeal. He needs to post one to stop enforcement of the judgment while he pursues appeals.
Put everything but the golf into an REIT. Then float a bond on that based on an exorbitant rate of return, with the knowledge that Thiel and the Adelson estate and Jared’s people, etc etc etc, snap them all up. Yields 2-3B overnight.
The 8th amendment to the Constitution is not a statutory law but is to protect against such excessive and individually targeted burdens laid on any American. She has obliterated its existence much less its meaning. But I have read that the way she has structured this whole thing he is supposed to be punished by whatever and after it’s over only then could he appeal when it’s too late to reverse the incredible damage...
Based on what I have read elsewhere, Wigtisha is obsessed with the idea of seizing the Trump Force One. As though somehow that will stop Trump from leasing a 757 with the identical paint job one week later...
Why woukd any appeals court not just put a stay on the ruling? It’s done all the time.
According to several reports of it I just read, the fine amount was based on how much they estimated he benefited from overvaluing his assets, not based on any sort of formula that is tied to his net worth, or equity in those properties. They estimated how much he overvalued his assets, but you don’t have to know equity amounts in order to do that. If the claimed value is significantly greater than a property is worth at 100% equity ownership, there’s no need to look further.
As I said, if you can provide any evidence that they actually looked into equity ownership, which was not needed to perform the analysis they conducted, I’ll gladly concede the point. But until then, there’s no evidence they did, or needed to.
Exactly. That is why she and the judge smirk about it.
I disagree. They are just doing what they know theyll get away with. Thats not necessarily understanding the dynamics of your actions. Look no further than the companies who crash and burn over wokeness. Alot of these things the left think they can simply jam down folks throats do not work out well for them. This case in NY will be a shining example.
Democrats love a good crisis but even the liberals get boomeranged by carnage they cause.
