Disagreements about rent, it makes sense that it should go to court.

But how is this not simply trespassing if the squatters have zero evidence they were even allowed on the property.

Mail is not good evidence since anyone can change their address and have mail sent anywhere they want in days. Right now someone out for vacation for 2 weeks (or vacant for sale) can have property stolen simply by a squatter sending mail.

This is antiquated law and should not be this way.

The Squatters have the system down pat.

They produce fake leases and papers to attest to their ‘ownership’ of the property and the cops can’t do a thing. They say it’s a ‘civil’ matter for the courts to decide and not their problem.

The actual homeowner is at a disadvantage.

The courts system is slow and expensive to hire lawyers to file cases.

The squatters know this and they have all the time in the world.

File appeal after appeal after appeal and they could be there for years. Some are.

One case I read about, the squatter actually SOLD the property and it was all perfectly legal....................
