Yes. Absolute Truth.

That is why Freepers need to self-regulate an allow the Free Republic to maintain their established reputation for quality discourse sharing quality freedom of thought and and expression. I believe that is what everyone hopes and desires.

Kremlin spokesperson acknowledges conflict in Ukraine
by Mateusz Czmiel
Daily Wrap
3-23-2024 1:00 p.m.

On Friday morning, for the first time since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the word “war” was used by the Kremlin’s spokesperson. Until now, the regime opted for the propagandistic term: “special military operation”. In Russia, speaking plainly could lead to imprisonment. Now, Dmitry Peskov is clarifying his remarks.

Many statements from Russian media or government officials are elements of propaganda. These reports form part of the information warfare waged by the Russian Federation.

- “Russia is now in a state of war, everyone should comprehend this,” declared the Kremlin’s spokesperson Dmitry Peskov for the first time since the onset of the “special military operation”. These comments were made on Friday morning during an interview with “Arguments and Facts”.

Following Russia’s assault on Ukraine, the Kremlin prohibited the term “war” - under penalty of imprisonment.

There are many web crawlers. Several collecting everything posted at FreeRepublic.com from its beginning.

During the Clinton Admin., an organization (based in Chicago [apologies, I do not currently have access to their name]), was complaining about “conservative media” and other conservative news and info on the Internet.

The organization wanted a federal program that would police the Internet and “protect against ‘bias.’”

This got my attention, because conservative online sources barely existed in contrast to the liberal palace media.

I was studying the “interweb” of liberal and leftwing organizations, and they owned the news media majors. The Washington Post was being kept alive by significant (meaning, certain wealthy) donors who paid for circulation.

Some managers long ago, realized that URL’s and webpages had something of a “half-life,” and, in order to preserve records, steps were taken to maintain the data (all of it).

Many people think that “You have to be a large organization like Google, to be able to have and manage a web crawler.” No.

The data of interest, determines the storage size. The scope of searching, determines the horsepower.

Web crawlers have guides that specify where to collect data. Guides limit cost.

So, somebodies are always collecting information about whomever is revealing themself to any part of the network; information that better self-discipline can limit.

Do you know if these 'somebodies' have identified themselves and their methods before like this one has?

Totally agree.
My college kids were surfing & were shocked to find some of the personally attacking memes & comments.

However, Freepers are intelligent conservatives that should be able to share pro/con information without creating dishonorable web reputations.

AI tools will be available to the average Internet user.

What another user says on/via the Internet, can be used against that “another user” - by the “average Internet user.”

Focus on self-discipline, is the advice I convey.

The United States has no doubt that ISIS was involved in the terrorist attack on a concert in the suburbs of Moscow on the evening of 22 March and had warned Russia in advance of the threat of such a terrorist attack.

SOURCE: CBS News

DETAILS: A US official, who commented on condition of anonymity, said that the United States had intelligence that confirmed ISIS’s claims of responsibility for the attack and has no reason to question this statement.

The source also said that the United States had informed Moscow in advance that it had intelligence about the alleged preparation of the attack.

CBS News noted that it had also received confirmation of this from National Security Council spokeswoman Adrienne Watson, without specifying whether it was both of the above statements or one of them.

Later, the Russian news agency TASS reported that a “source in the Russian secret services” had also confirmed that the United States had warned Moscow about the terrorist threat.

Earlier, the White House said that there was no evidence of any involvement by Ukraine in the attack.

BACKGROUND:

A shooting incident occurred prior to a concert by the band Piknik at the Crocus City Hall in Krasnogorsk, Moscow Oblast, on the evening of 22 March. Afterwards, a large fire broke out in the auditorium. On the morning of 23 March, reports said over 90 people had been killed.

On 8 March, the US Embassy in Russia and the UK Foreign Office warned of possible terrorist attacks in Moscow in the next two days.

Truth.

In the past, Russian citizens that I have discussed politics with are aware of muslim terrorists attacks which often are not shared in media.

Worldtraveler once upon a time #104: "Nope. You follow them. Quote away, champ."

UMCRevMom@aol.com #5: "No. I was ordained as a UMC clergy."***

armourenthusiast #11: "Welcome to all Woke United Methodists. If you stay long enough we may invite you to become a real PCA Presbyterian."

moovova #21: "Hallelujah, sister!"

Worldtraveler once upon a time #27: "The pix from the Washington Post is a fine additional to a thread which purports to rely on "religion" as argument for an essentially foreign policy argument.
Interestingly, it always seems to come down to money, as schisms over various "religious" issues like gay marriage and gay clergy and more rip denominations into two."

moovova #30: "My bad..I should've included the link to the WaPo article...: 'The United Methodist Church has appointed a transgender deacon'
By Julie Zauzmer June 7, 2017 at 4:25 p.m. EDT"

Worldtraveler once upon a time #37: "It seems "I was ordained as a UMC clergy" has a meaning more 'extended' than it might seem."

I think UMCRevMom@aol.com has made clear to anybody interested that she is on the more conservative side of religious issues.
So, all of this kind of dumping, I consider a Kremlin Agitprop PsyOp to help defeat Ukrainians in the Donbas by falsely linking UMCRevMom@aol.com to transgenders in the Methodist church!!

Nice work, comrades!
You will be rewarded.

What an amusing reply. A "Kremlin Agitprop PsyOp to help defeat Ukrainians in the Donbas" here on faraway and mostly anonymous Free Republic? Really. As if any of this makes a difference to the war between two still non-NATO nations six thousand miles away?

Your "construction" of the argument above shows your distance from reality. 1) Is the UMC as a denomination in schism? Yes. 2) Is the schism driven by homosexual and transsexual politics within the UMC? Yes. 3) Does the UMC and its schism have anything to do with the Ukraine-Russia war? No.

Since you are busy with questions, here's one for you.

This thread was begun by posting a Birmingham, Alabama, resident's three hour and forty minute long, fund-raising YouTube video. Did you watch it?

quoting BJK: "Since October, Ukrainian reports were all showing massive daily Russian Meat Wave assaults on Ukrainian lines, costing Russians up to 1,000 casualties"

Kazan: "That's utter bullsh$t that can't backed up with a SHRED of EVIDENCE.
Russian obituaries, hospital records, social media accounts nor satellite imagery back it up."

Yes, I do understand your argument here and I studied the chart in your video link, so I see what you are saying.
Obviously, except in October itself, the Mediazona reports do not correspond to those from Ukraine's government, or other battlefield observers.
What is the explanation?

  1. First of all, it is easy to confuse the words "casualties" and "killed", but they are often far from the same things.
Casualties include wounded, captured and missing, as well as killed, and the ratio of total casualties to killed varies from war to war.
In Ukraine, Russia's wounded are estimated as three to every one killed.

  2. Mediazona reports on killed or wounded are based 100% on Russian official documents, not battlefield observations, and clearly Russian officials wanted to put the best possible face on their casualty numbers leading up to Vlad the Invader's "reelection" in March.

  3. Are Russian officials well known for their honest reporting in the face of political imperatives to put a good face on things?
    You tell me, FRiend?

  4. Yes, obviously, Ukrainians have some incentive to exaggerate Russian casualties, especially in the face of their own slow, slow withdrawals from critical battles, i.e., Avdiivka.

  5. But Ukrainians base their reports on battlefield observations, where they can easily count up the numbers of Russian vehicles destroyed, and bodies left lying.
These numbers can be, and generally are confirmed by others reviewing the same footage.

  6. We might also notice that the word "wounded" does not distinguish between major and minor wounds, and where exactly we draw the lines could help determine how many fall into the category of "casualties".

  7. Finally, here is the strangest part of your Mediazona graph at circa 8:15 -- Avdiivka fell to Russian assaults on February 15, at which time Ukrainians reported massive Russian Meat Wave assaults with corresponding numbers of casualties.
But Mediazona reports ever smaller numbers of Russian casualties for the same period.

Which is more likely to be the correct picture?

Kazan: "Never mind, you dunce, that Mediazona and the BBC ARE PRO-UKRAINIAN.
They have no incentive to downplay Russian causalities."

Presumably, you're right about that, why would they deliberately lie?
On the other hand, Russian officials have 100% incentives to lie about everything, especially their own casualties leading up to Vlad the Invader's "reelection".
And there have been many public complaints from families of Russian soldiers not being informed about what happened to their men.

So it seems to me that Russian officials are incentivized far more to hide their own casualties than are Ukrainians to exaggerate them, right?

Kazan: "You're believing and repeating Ukrainian, Biden regime and Deep State propaganda willfully, which makes YOU the enemy of American First patriots that love this country."

Sorry, but that's just nonsense because:

  1. We use the best data available, and here it's well worth repeating that your own Mediazona numbers for Russians killed exactly match Ukraine's estimates of total Russian casualties, given what Mediazona themselves acknowledged leaving out of their reports.
    See my post #94 above.

  2. The only data that we can be 100% certain is fake, is anything which can be tied back to the old Kremlin Ministry for Agitation and Propaganda.

  3. Well, if by "America First patriots" you mean all Donald Trump supporters, those include me.
But if you really mean people who hate Trump supporters and want to see America Ruined First, well... then, not so much.
Kazan: "This war is solely being fought on behalf of Western elitists that have raped Ukraine and wanted to do the same thing to Russia."

As far as I can tell, those words are 100% fact-free meaningless Russian agitprop directly from the old Kremlin Ministry for Agitation and Propaganda.

Kazan: "Our meddling in Ukraine and the war itself are of zero national importance."

Beyond moral, legal and humanitarian issues with Vlad the Invader's many assaults & threats against Russia's smaller neighbors, there is the larger issue summarized as "Axis of Evil Dictators", including the CCP's Xi-snake, NoKo's Little Kim, Iran's Moolah Mullahs and several others, perhaps most notably Venezuela's Chaves-Madura.
In 1991 only about a third of the world's population lived in more democratic countries and by 2019 that number had grown to 50%.
Today it's fallen back to 45% -- dictatorships are on the rise and on the march these days.
They will not stop until somebody stands firm to stop them.

Countries by Democracy Index, shades of blue/yellow = more democratic, shades of red/black = dictatorships
