WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court on Tuesday allowed Texas to enforce a contentious new law that gives local police the power to arrest migrants.
The conservative-majority court, with three liberal justices dissenting, rejected an emergency request made by the Biden administration, which said states have no authority to legislate on immigration, an issue the federal government has sole authority over.
Great news. It’s needed since an Obama appointed judge just ruled illegals can carry firearms saying it’s their 2nd Amendment Constitutional rights.
Not bad for a bunch of (supposed) “deep state traitors” ...
Whoa!
After the stays against the enforcement of that law, I have to admit I didn’t see this coming, especially, this quick!
We finally win something.
GREAT
This is actually a win-win. It’s a win for those states that want to enforce the law, and it’s a win for the truth as citizens are confronted with the reality of states and cities that have declared themselves to be sanctuaries for illegals.
Wait, what? I thought the SC upheld the ban on Texas arresting anyone. What changed? I’m not complaining mine you, just weirded out.
6-3 decision with the usual suspects dissenting.
I thought I was the only one. I am totally confused. What did we just hear yesterday? Did USSC issue this ruling today only because Biden pushed the envelope and asked for emergency relief?
“A surge of unauthorized immigration plainly is not an invasion within the meaning of the State War Clause,” Prelogar wrote."
Prelogar is representing the Biden regime.
“an issue the federal government has sole authority over”
No, they have authority over Naturalization. Border control is implicit in the requirement to prevent Invasion, so it’s different from “immigration”.
The fact that border control is done by a police agency is due to Posse Comitatus Act, otherwise it would still be done by the military. But that doesn’t mean that the States are powerless.
No one thought they could not until the 1980s when the Mexican invasion agitators started chanting “only the federal goberment can make an immigration law” and culminated with Mariana Pfaelzer striking down parts of Prop. 187 in 1996.
Simply because the Mexican Reconquistadores say it doesn’t make it true.
I think that was just a temporary decision until the Court issued its final opinion, which they ended up doing in a matter of a day or two. I’m not sure why they bothered with the temporary stay, but I’ll take the win.
Time for the Gov to put some teeth to it now.
local police the power to arrest migrants.”
Arrest illegal immigrants.
Excellent!!
Agreed, GREAT.
Me as well...I thought this one was dead....it did a total 180
NBC news is hardly credible.
It sure looks like an invasion to me ...
