A 17-year-old Texas high school student died days before his birthday after unknowingly taking a fentanyl-laced pill.
Christopher Flores was a student at La Porte High School. On March 4, he was rushed to the hospital after he went to a friend’s house and unknowingly took a laced pill, KRIV reported.
It was shared by Janeth Balleza on a GoFundMe page that Flores was in a coma ‘fighting with all his might.’
KRIV reported that he spent more than a week on life support before he was pronounced dead on Friday at 2:35 p.m.
“It is with the heaviest of hearts that I share this update with you,” said Balleza. “Though he fought until the end, Chris did not pull through. He is now resting.”
Balleza also shared that he was full of positivity, laughter, strength and always had a bright smile on his face.
The family said a toxicology report came back positive for fentanyl.
La Porte Police said they’ve launched a criminal investigation and his death will potentially be treated as a homicide case.
His 18th birthday would’ve been on Sunday.
“taking a fentanyl-laced pill”
Why do they insist on saying the pills were laced? What drug was he trying to take? The kid was a junky, he OD’d.
Yes it’s to speed up the replacement program.
There should be a lesson in this story for millions of young American students nationwide, but they’re more concerned about giving them wokester socialization skills and trans education than meaningful real-life lessons.
d We do.
'They' do not.
For some reason, government and media do not seem to care too much about fentanyl deaths.
That is a great idea!
Somebody should do it? Is there somebody who is in position to do it?
Maybe they will do it when Trump is inaugurated?
They spread the “Narcan helps” idiocy.
What I have learned from a doctor who is treating these drug cases, that Narcan is not that much help.
First it is not always available and even when it is, it does not work.
Narcan metabolizes a lot faster than drugs and especially Fentanyl.
So people are administered Narcan, get better, go home and die.
Apparently it is very common in places, where they distribute Narcan to drug users to self medicate.
“...after he went to a friend’s house and unknowingly took a laced pill, KRIV reported.”
Yeah. So, uh, what did he *think* it was? An actual OTC medication, or just a less-lethal get-high pill?
what kind of pill did he think he was taking?.....
