Camping banned at California Central Coast beach due to excess of 'human waste'

California Central Coast residents are losing overnight access to the only free beach campsite in the Big Sur area because visitors wouldn’t clean up after themselves.

On Thursday, the California Coastal Commission announced that overnight camping and campfires will be banned at San Carpoforo Beach, located off Highway 1 in northern San Luis Obispo County, for up to two years.

San Carpoforo Beach has no restrooms or trash cans, which became a major issue as the area got more popular. The report said, “visitors have sometimes left large amounts of trash, debris, and human waste at the beach.”

The camping ban is planned to allow the U.S. Forest Service to “reset” conditions at the beach and create a plan for visitor use moving forward.

I had no idea that so many San Franciscans went that far south to go camping.

The entire central coast of CA is basically off limits. It’s much better to keep everyone packed into the big population centers.

Prediction: someday someone will invent the toilet and soon indoor plumbing will solve all this.

Thomas Crapper had the most popular early company but the first patent for the flushing toilet was issued to Alexander Cummings in 1775. In 1777 Samuel Prosser invented and patented the ‘plunger closet’. Joseph Bramah of Yorkshire patented the first practical water closet in England in 1778.

Most toilets displayed the company logo ‘Thomas Crapper & Co Ltd’. The US soldiers stationed in England at the time started referring to the toilet as “the Crapper” and brought that slang term back with them to the United States. The slang word for toilet became more widely taken up and is still being used today.

Sure, leaving all sorts of garbage in a public area is a problem. But it’s easily solved by admitting millions more illegals into the state. Oh, and decriminalize drugs, too.

Are there any homeless Muslims in CA?

Do you have to ask why that question?

Look at a map of central coastal CA...Outside of a few small towns, it’s pretty much empty. They don’t want humans there.

So “Oh Crap” “Clean Up Your Crap! and “Taking a Crap” all originated from the name Thomas Crapper.

As someone who actually gets paid for a job that includes cleaning up after the homeless they know how to use water bottles and milk containers as their toilets.

The first thing I thought of was SF.

I guess it’s OK if it’s in the city.

“Camping banned at California Central Coast beach due to excess of ‘human waste’”

I don’t understand. They certainly allow both on the sidewalks of San Francisco.
