Mike Lee subjected to TSA pat-down days after calling to nix the agency: 'Maybe it's a coincidence'

Honestly, I fly a lot less than he does, am a sr. citizen, and I’ve been pat down twice in the past couple of years and seem to get singled out for the hand swab more than most.

I agree. Get rid of them. But if you want them to do something actually productive, put all of them on the southern border to pat down every single illegal alien crossing our borders.

If we’re not going to get rid of them, they can at least check ids, check for drugs, guns, etc. At least they would be accomplishing something productive!

I always used to get patted down. It may have something to do with my refusal to get into the rinky dink “scanner”. ;-) Swore off flying when I retired.

Son married a Turk, so we used to travel there. EVERYTIME leaving, wifey gets taken to “ the room”, for a full pat down. No coincidence, she looks worried, and is a BLONDE.

Hey, Mike, how about when, as a flight crew member in the early 2000’s, I was subjected to a sexual assault by a corpulent female TSA swine. She actually made contact with my female private parts, pressed and lingered. How about when I was missing my flight due to a backup in security, the TSA bridge troll in Ca decided to smugly use me for ‘training’ a newhire and pulled me aside in my full flight attendant uniform. He pulled a slowdown, publicly going over every single item in my suitcase and flight bag as well as my female hygiene items in my pocketbook.

Why was I treated like a criminal when **I** would be the one on the plane if there were an incident due to something in MY bag when they could sit on their fat asses and just watch if something happened.

My senior thesis was on the absolute failure of TSA screenings - sometimes 100%- in US airports. The employment requirements were dropped from college degree to ‘some experience on the screening machines’. During my research, I came across a forum where TSA employees were discussing voting union and many were talking about acquiring disability so they wouldn’t have to work. This was maybe 20 yrs ago so maybe things have changed.

Privatize it and drop this department.

Every agency has become a malignancy. They are all weaponized and basically returning us to what is essentially a feudal system of government.

It’s amazing that Congress is giving de facto authorization of this by doing nothing even as they are being victimized by it.

And how many act of terror on airplanes has the TSA stopped in it two decades of existence? In exchange for the expense of the agency, the hours people have lost waiting to be groped by total strangers in blue uniforms, flights missed, etc. Has the agency proved its worth?
