Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will announce his choice of running mate on March 26 in Oakland, Calif., his campaign revealed Wednesday.
The heads-up comes one day after the 70-year-old told the New York Times that New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers and former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura were “at the top of his list” to be his No. 2.
Other prominent figures approached as VP possibilities include former Democratic Rep. Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii, Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) and 2020 presidential candidate and 2021 New York mayoral candidate Andrew Yang — all of whom apparently declined, according to The Times.
*** Rodgers was an early supporter of Kennedy, posting a “kennedy2024” hashtag on social media as early as April 2023, and the two men were pictured hiking together last month. The NFL star has been a vocal critic of the COVID-19 vaccine, an issue that is a pillar of Kennedy’s campaign.
Ventura introduced Kennedy at an event in Arizona last month and has a similar third-party background, winning the 1998 Minnesota gubernatorial election as a member of the Reform Party — the only Reform candidate to achieve high office. *** A HarrisX poll released Monday showed Kennedy polling at 12% in a hypothetical matchup with Trump (41%), Biden (35%) and two other minor candidates. Independent Cornel West and the Green Party’s Jill Stein both got 1% each.
RealClearPolitics polling average data shows Kennedy at 12.4% in the same five-way race, with Trump at 41.1%, Biden at 38.4%, West at 2.4% and Stein at 1.8%.
The longshot presidential candidate is facing an uphill battle to get on the ballot in every state as an independent, with the campaign saying it will cost them $15 million. ***

Yeah, JV is way past his political expiration date.
Is Curtis LeMay still alive?
C’mon, this is the Bee, right?
Do it, name Jesse Ventura..please.
Talk about comic relief.
Correct answer.
What most folks don’t get—but the Democratic insiders know—is that any third party that gathers significant votes guarantees a President Trump victory.
The reason has nothing to do with ideology—it does not matter who the candidates are.
In 2024 here is the key:
https://news.gallup.com/poll/403166/americans-trust-media-remains-near-record-low.aspx
President Trump’s voter don’t watch the mass media—and on the rare occasions they do they do not trust it.
Meanwhile any third party will advertise on mass media and will rely on news coverage and mass media talk shows to get them publicity.
The “buzz” will be watched by Democrats or Democrat leaning Independents.
The third party has no practical way to spread their message to Republican voters.
But that’s not saying much.
Just what we need, washed up athletes and old former governors.
The only person on that list that would GAIN votes for RFK would be Yang. Tulsi won’t do it. Paul might do it for a laugh.
Aaron Rogers? It would make RFK more of a joke than it already is.
RFK is a left wing lunatic. He is also 70. Can we please get someone on the ticket that isn’t over 70?
Like the late Richard Belzer Ventura’s serious side was nonfiction writing. 8 books including one on the JFK controversy.
Happened to watch the 2rd Season X-files last night where he was the mystery man in black in the satirical one “Jose Chung’s From Outer Space.”
I doubt Kennedy would pick Rodgers or Ventura, neither bring anything to the table and would be a farce and I don’t think Kennedy is that stupid. I think that is click bait for the MSM.
Andrew Yang would be ideal.
Or any other leftist. The goal is for Kennedy to suck more voters away from Biden, rather than from Trump.
Maybe Wesley Clarke is available? Or Susan Estrogen?
Okay, I hear ya.
I think Kennedy will get Biden voters and Trump voters and the Independents.
Neither Biden nor Trump are addressing any of the real concerns facing this country especially the Fiscal Ones, Deficit and Debt. Biden’s proposed budget is a disaster and Trump’s would be no better.
Ventura is the drum bucket that sued the family of slain Seal sniper Chris Kyle. He is dog excrement

I’m Trump supporter who only cares that Ventura was once a governor of Minnesota and has a name.
I want the voters to have a lot of choices in November.(The more the merrier)

cgbg,
Shhhh......this is one of our little secrets, let them find out in November.😀
If he lands Rand Paul, it will be hard for me to not vote for him.
But I consider very, very unlikely.
The NY Post already had a story that Rogers is a Sandy Hook denier.
I’d suggest Sam Brinton.
His wardrobe is to die for!
RFK, Jr. if you want run an effective third party ticket get someone with a little experience. Sheez!
