DC-3 is a good aircraft. But different
economics and use.
B777-XXX won’t last as long due to economics.
it does cost a little more to run and maintain,
and it is just a bit bigger.
I personally think the C-130 will out live the DC-3 in years of use and production.

I admit to a fondness for the DC-3 because I have flown in so many of them. And survived.
The 777 is generally more comfortable and has better food but it can not land and take of from a grassy postage stamp in the middle of Nowhereville.
