This must be where I heard they were going to hide the 62 billion for Ukraine in. Supposedly Mike Johnson knows this. It is a cover for him.

I hope someone can prove me wrong.

"It’s too late. It all went too far. There is no solution."

Nothing left to do but pour on steam right to the bitter end in a spectacular Thelma and Louise Express off the cliff and into the Grand Canyon.

If it hasn't happened by the Rapture that will certainly finish things off right quick.

“This is nuts. Covid spending is now ingrained in the baseline”

Yep. As I recall they did the same with “emergency” spending in 2009 in order to bail out the financial institutions. From then on it was continuing resolutions at the same funding levels.

But seriously the politicians have to buy votes or there will be chaos, and not from just low-income welfare recipients.

There are a lot of corporations, NGO’s, universities, state and local governments to placate.

You are right there really is no solution. If someone came up with one he or she would be voted out of office and the cycle would continue.

More importantly, the aggregate spending of all US states is $3.5 trillion. So the total attributable to government at all levels is $10.8 trillion, OR 43% of US GDP

NOW you know what they are touting when the speak of GDP "growth"

"President Joe Biden on Monday released a $7.3 trillion budget proposal, which sparked swift opposition from congressional Republicans."

Blah blah blah. This too shall pass.

All empires end. The Roman Empire had a lot of debt and nobody collected.

We monitized our debt. A few weeks after the removal of the gold standard the dollar rallied. Which led to a boom. That was a form of a reset from the norm.

Most Fed employees should not be voting, but they do. Politicians will never reduce their number in any meaningful way.

Right, and the people who are collecting all the money don’t seem to understand that after the collapse there will be no more government handouts or elective services. Even social security will most likely be disposed of. The left will be burning everything. Violence will be everywhere.

You are right. People are in for a rude awakening.

This man says SS and Pensions will be adjusted down by about 2/3 so people can expect to receive 1/3 of what they now receive.

In Amity Shlaes’ great book The Forgotten Man, there is a great quote from one of FDR’s minions. By 1937, all of their insane ideas had not cured the depression. It really had extended it. The FDR staff said something close to “we spent as much money as we could possibly spend.” Printing money is not wealth creation, unless you are a democRAT with your 10%.

All debt public and private is forgiven.

That also means all financial assets are wiped-out.

Your savings/checking/IRA/401K are someone else’s debt.

$7.3 trillion?

That means that Brandon proposes to spend a dollar in less time than it takes light to travel one mile.

Smoke and mirrors. The increased taxes on billionaires is a spit in the bucket. Increased taxes on corporations are passed on to consumers.
