I was in a local BiMart (Oregon coast) years ago, and a 60-something year old dude in front of me was wearing large, neon green ear gauges. Every other aspect of him was perfectly ordinary. Of course, when he got the obligatory “paper of plastic? “ question, he couldn’t just pick a preference “Paper...gotta save the Earth.” I resisted the temptation to follow him to see ehat he was driving. One fortyish woman could not stop herself from gawking at those glowing earlobes.
