President Trump is narrowing his choices for a running mate in November and is focused on three young U.S. senators, according to a GOP strategist with close ties to the campaign.
Sens. Katie Britt of Alabama, J.D. Vance of Ohio and Marco Rubio of Florida are the top choices, Ryan Girdusky, a GOP strategist and conservative blogger, said.
Not included on the shortlist: South Dakota Gov, Kristi. Noem, Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina, Arizona Senate candidate Kari Lake, or his former press secretary Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders. Neither Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis nor Mr. Trump’s recently vanquished GOP primary opponent, Nikki Haley, are under consideration.

“Abbott is the choice.”
Yes; he is. The choice of the cartels. His come-to-Jesus moment re immigration came WAY too late. He balanced on the top of the fence far too long before taking a position.
If an outsider, then Tom Fitton.
Removing a good Senator from his seat would be a bad idea, although there would be some decent choices.
“Dan Bongino, that would scare the bejeebers out of the left.”
Oh, man! Wouldn’t that just be hilarious?
We do need someone who the left hates as much as they hate Trump. It would not hurt the ticket at all; it would enhance it.
No to any senator primarily because it gives the commies an opportunity to flip a senate seat. Many other reasons also ...
NOT Rubio please. I wish my fellow Gator were a better Senator but he’s basically a tool of the Neocons.
People who haven’t moved for generations look down on people without roots.
Opportunists without foundations.
Even if he weren't from Florida, would Rubio win Trump even one more vote?
Or lose him votes?
Look where its coming from
General Flynn or Ben Carson would be excellent choices. Although, I think Carson is too mild mannered to lead a conservative agenda. I would prefer Alan West, a true fire breathing MAGA conservative.
Can’t go wrong with any of those picks.
I would caution against selecting a woman (unless it’s a proven MAGA enforcer like MTG), because they almost always turn left the longer they are in office.
Presidential electors cannot cast both their ballots for persons from the same state as themselves.
So, they can as long as they don’t need Florida to win the presidency
Vance?
Sorry, not buyin’ into that one. He’s not good for Ohio and he’s not good for the Nation.
Neither of those three would improve chances for Trump. FL. OH & Ala. are all in the bag for Trump. Trump can use women and black votes or at least a popular candidate from a battleground state.
He said he already knows who it’s going to be.
“Vance is the man but he is a he and whiter than me.”
In other words, in the future, no white man can ever be president again.
Are you being serious?
Talk about drinking the Kool-Aid.
I’m just telling you what the realities are. This has been SOP procedure in picking VP candidates since the Federalist Period in the early 1800s. Balancing the ticket nowadays has less to do with regions. It is now playing the diversity game in balancing the ticket. Look, I abhor this BS as much as you but the VP will be black or female.
Trump doesn’t have a home in Florida. He can change his residence with a call to his lawyers.
I think you are overly critical of Abbott. In our last discussion of the matter, you gave 3 examples of people who would be acceptable to you. Of the 3, I think I said I preferred Hawley.
My feeling is that a governor, who has actually been in the executive role, is perhaps a better choice.
That Abbott’s “come-to-Jesus moment ...came WAY too late” reminds me of a parable Jesus told about a worker who was hired near the end of the day. He did come late, but at least he came to the job on equal terms.
I don’t see any of those 3. none of those states are states we should be looking for further representation. Florida, Ohio and Alabama?
If Rand Paul ran for President, I’d vote for him twice. I’d also give the maximum contribution of $3,300 to his campaign.
