The applause was planned to cover-up how terrible his speech is. The applause diverts attention from the liberal message.
And is meant to gaslight the public into thinking he is OK. There should never be a question again of how deeply DC politicians hold us in contempt.
This reminds me of how a funeral eulogy at a prominent Dem politician’s service turned into a political campaign speech.
