Atlanta District Attorney Fani Willis paid the chief prosecutor in Donald Trump's election fraud trial out of her seized property fund for the first three months he was hired, disclosed work contracts show.
Willis and Wade testified in February that they were previously in a relationship but insist that relationship began after Willis hired him to oversee the prosecution of Donald Trump and his co-accused, who were indicted for allegedly trying to overthrow the Georgia result of the 2020 presidential election.
The pair denied in their testimony that they had tried to cover up their relationship until Wade was hired to prosecute the Trump case.
Willis and Wade did not sign a contract until more than four months into Nathan Wade's role as chief prosecutor in the Donald Trump election fraud case in Georgia.
Wade earned an average of $25,149 a month for his first 26 months on the case despite never having prosecuted a felony, a Newsweek review of his invoices has found.

Does Fani have a primary challenger this year? I would imagine that Atlanta feels it can’t live without her.
Makes sense since she confiscated somebody else’s husband.
I'm not an attorney, so only have a general public's understanding, but it seems to me what she did is theft. I don't know who owns confiscated property, but certainly the DA does not own it.
Have you seen his ex wife?
She’s gorgeous...............
I OBJECTS YOUR HONOR- ALGONQUIN J. CALHOUN!
Not a lawyer or with much knowledge of law or public attorney rules and ethics behavior.
That said, does anyone here want to opine if it was possibly normal or acceptable practice to pay Wade from the confiscated properties fund at all or for ant length of time? If not accepted practice, might it have been done and “ok” as long as the person taking the confiscated properties money out to pay Wade planned on paying it back to the confiscated properties fund in the future, or at least before it was discovered? Is that money fund type typically available for use as a slush fund within departments, not routinely audited or overseen? I hope not because that doesn’t sound like good accounting practices. Thanks in advance. I learn so much here and try not be insulting or sound too dumb.

Judge McAfee needs this to be a violation of the law or at least an ethics violation applicable to her position as DA for it to affect his ruling.
And even then, he has to reopen the hearings if new evidence is to be introduced because, as of Monday, the hearing is closed to new evidence.
It just keeps getting worse and worse.......
That was Day One - when she looked like she had a loaded diaper and her brassiere had gone on strike.
Talk about RAGING.
The way she angrily fluttered her eyelashes when came barreling in to ‘dispute’ the prosecutor’s ‘LLIIIIIIEEEESSSSS’ was incredible.
The best part was when she proclaimed..."I'm not on trial, they are.. "
to which I respond, Oh really
Did she put the W's in front of the M's?
In the Georgia hearing today it was brought up that Wade said he put his contract money into his law business account. Apparently that is a big no-no as that’s just supposed to be client money like retainers and awards. My understanding that this is not taxed as income until it comes out when the lawyers bill for work or get their share of an award. Putting earnings in there even temporarily is not allowed and opens Wade up for IRS problems.
If you haven’t watched that hearing, it is worth the time. Ashleigh Merchant knows EVERYTHING and they let her speak freely. The dem at the end was annoying but the chairman let Merchant have the last word.

Thanks for the update!...............

She’s a nepo-baby, who thinks that she can do whatever she wants to make herself a real celebrity.
Her testimony today before the GA Senate Special Committee on Investigations was comprehensive and fearless, simply outstanding! She was spot on, extremely well prepared, brought the receipts (as Bannon would say). She was excellent!
