As democracy remains under siege, it has been frustrating to watch how the press covers politics these days. I am reminded by lessons that came to me during the Nixon years as a CBS News correspondent, which I’ll add here:
1. Enough with Both-sides-ism
When one side lies intentionally and repeatedly, they are no longer entitled to the benefit of the doubt. They should be held to account, right away. Do not simply repeat the narratives they spew.

I’d rather not.
“it has been frustrating to watch how the press covers politics these days”

So step back, take a deep breath, and seriously ask yourself, “Why am I watching this?”. Seriously, no joke.
I stopped reading and watching any Deep State media many years ago. It’s very freeing.
Also, don’t you understand by now that your reaction is EXACTLY what they are trying to elicit? They WANT to point to your reaction, just like they were cruelly teasing their little brother, and laugh, and say, “Ha ha! What a sap! Got him again! Can’t wait to do it tomorrow!”
You are being used. Don’t let them use you.
LOL....
You refer to FReeper Buckhead. Who hasn’t posted since 2015 IIRC, I looked at that account a few days ago.
I read that post within 30 minutes of it being made, and knew *INSTANTLY* that he had nailed it. The technology to produce the memo Rather was using to attack Dubya simply didn’t exist commonly on the date on the memo, it was a complete anachronism, obviously fake. State of the art at that date was a fixed pitch IBM Selectric typewriter with a ball, and the memo had complete desktop publishing level kerning (variable letter spacing).
Then someone recreated the complete memo using default setting on the then-current version of Microsoft Word. It still took a long time before the Left would accept reality, but it *did* eventually come to pass that most of them came to accept that what Rather and 60 Minutes were presenting was a complete fake, and Rather was pushed out at CBS.
Democracy under siege, like when unelected people remove candidates from the ballot without due process? Or when the government tells private companies what content to remove from their platforms? Arresting journalists for reporting on events unflattering to the establishment? Lying about the nature and purpose of proposed legislation?
Apparently Rather has no sense of irony. Nor shame. What’s the frequency, Kenneth?!
Fake but accurate.
Wow..I remember that.
Did the FBI/DNC take out Buckhead?
Yes, that was Freeper Buckhead. More recently he has been arguing the case against Fani Willis.
What a pathetic fraud.
Still alive
Still lying
I did not know that!
He sure told off the Democrats.
Rather thinks “reporters” are all entitled to state their opinions as facts, and the facts with which they disagree as opinion.
Why not report the statements and then the corroborating evidence that all intrepid reports learn from their own research.
I have not seen a lot of investigative journalism for a very long time - and never from Dan Blather.
Oooooh, I bet that really chaps Dan’s @ss! LOL!
So Dan still thinks Liberal Lies are ok, but question EVERYTHING a Republican says…..
Buckhead. Harry McDougal delivered a devastating closing argument in the Fani Willis disqualification hearing last week. He’s the guy who outed Dan Rather.
Already has. 😁
Yes. The left is guilty of the sins Rather is complaining about. Of course the fake news suppresses bad news for Democrats. As Iowa Hawk said in a famous tweet:

Journalism is about covering important stories. With a pillow, until they stop moving.

I only read the excerpt.
Is the article written in proportional font?
Are there any superscripts?
