Had Beschloss studied history instead of sniffing Stalin’s underpants he would know that Americans respond to national security crises, at least initially, by rallying around the current President. Criticizing our own government is seen as unpatriotic and aiding the enemy. See “Wag the Dog” for a fictional example of politicians exploiting this phenomenon.

But don’t we always get an “October Surprise”? I predict one will come, but in favor of Democrats. Expect something like “Newly found pictures show Donald Trump kicking dogs” or “Trump is set to dissolve both houses of Congress, will declare martial law”.
I expect a few widely dispersed terrorist attacks over a 2-3 week period. Intent is to spread fear far and wide to “FORCE” marshal law and cancelling of elections.

My "centuries" -- probably as long ago as yours, or longer -- had some of my professors requiring THEIR books be bought. The handy "used books" stores made that not so pricey.

I too am chuckling at these jackasses, for whom appearance is more important than reality. But today, it seems this government is made up of over-paid socialists and press agents and toadies.
