consumption has become the key in stabilising China's economic growth Their demographics are rotten for this. Too many old people (not big consumers) very few young people (they would be consumers, but there aren't enough of them). I don't see a way out for China.

By 2030 the average age in China will be higher than the United States. It’s possible it already happened.

China's in bad shape. It's military sucks, the kids have no desire to serve the interests of the CCP, to them Communism is something their parents and grandparents revere, not them and they sure aren't willing to get slaughtered invading Taiwan. In fact the kids have adopted a phrase that translates into “Let it rot’’.
