As Nikki Haley stubbornly clings to life ahead of Super Tuesday, warning that nominating Donald Trump for president a third time would mean “suicide for our country,” some of her closest supporters take solace in the fact that the future is unknowable.
Perhaps there is a “fatal landmine” that the former president “could step on at any minute” or a lurking controversy that could “land him deep in the bottom of a well,” speculated Michigan State Rep. Mark Tisdal, who served on Haley’s leadership team for that state. “She is an alternative,” added Utah state Sen. Todd Weiler, who campaigned with Haley earlier this week, “and nobody knows what the future holds with the lawsuits and the age of both of our leading candidates.”
Such are the unrealized hopes of the anti-Trump coalition. He will turn 78 in June, just three years younger than President Biden. He faces 91 felony counts in total among his four criminal indictments.
He has swept the first six nominating contests regardless.
And Trump has yet to trip into a proverbial well or stumble onto any of the aforementioned landmines. During the primary, that is. Haley has urged the GOP to look to November from the beginning, offering up a well-worn rebuttal to the chorus of party members calling on her to exit. Now she has some data to make that case: “He lost 40% of the primary vote in all of the early states.”
An accountant before politics, Haley points to the percentages in her favor as evidence of Trump’s weakness.
As one prominent GOP operative put it to RealClearPolitics, requesting anonymity to speak frankly, “She’s not building a big movement. What she’s doing is lying in wait and hoping for disaster.”

And this is why she cant be taken seriously. If her pitch to the public was the country is dying right now in front of our eyes thank to Joe Biden - instead of Trump Trump Trump ....she might have a punchers chance at taking a state or two....but she apparently took the advice of the bagmen and used the one strategy guaranteed to fail with the GOP- make Trump the villain.
Lately, when I hear her name, I have to overcome a strong urge to slap her face.
Criminal convictions in kangaroo courts will not even slow down President Trump.

Nobody is funding Nikki right now.
She is broke—on fumes.
Her advertising budget on Super Tuesday is bare bones.
After Super Tuesday it is dog food time for her campaign staff.
“Nikki Haley got the crazy eyes.”
And she waves her arms constantly.
Hey, Nikki, why not fly to Florida, purchase a gallon of gasoline and a Bic lighter, stand outside the gate to Mar-a-Lago, give your suicide of America speech, pour the gasoline over you self and flick your Bic. Who knows, you might be re-incarnated as a cow.
Maybe she’s not a terrible person after all. Maybe it’s simply a case of her having a screw loose.
Or both.
By alienating the MAGA wing of the GOP, Nikki will make it impossible for her to win the White House. She might recall 2012, when the Tea Party crowd stayed home on Election Day.
That is why she is staying in. She thinks if Trump is convicted, she will be appointed. She doesn’t have snowball’s chance in hell.
I will put some numbers—as best as I can determine them—on Nikki’s campaign.
She raised and spent $70 million in November, December, January and February.
It is gone.
For that money she got six primary and caucus losses and a one hundred delegate deficit to President Trump.
A serious Super Tuesday campaign for an underdog would cost another $50 million this weekend.
Her expenditures appear to be in the $1 million range.
Her campaign is a joke.
If she loses the Washington DC primary this weekend (likely but too early to be certain) she is on track to break the all time primary record (of a serious candidate) of six primary losses in a row previously held by Udall.
She may be on verge of losing twenty primaries in a row.
That will be a truly historic humiliation—perhaps never to be repeated.

Nikki has made too many enemies. RFK Jr. has a better shot at being named the GOP standard bearer and he’s a Democrat! No, if Trump falls another will step in ? Who? Tim Scott? Ted Cruz? The list is long. Maybe even Eric Trump? Laura Trump? No, Hallie’s has too much baggage.

Absolutely spot on! The corruption of the justice system to eliminate a political enemy should be hugely offensive to all Americans, regardless of party affiliation or feelings about Donald Trump. The ends do not justify the means. My dislike of Nikki Haley is increasing by the day.
