German frigate Hessen caused a blunder in the Red Sea as it led EU's anti-Houthi mission. The German warship opened fire at American MQ-9 Reaper drone as it spotted it flying in the area. The warship mistook it for being a Houthi drone, however, its missiles failed to reach the drone due to a reported "technical defect." RT News reported that the Reaper drone was flying in the area with its transponder shut off. Watch for more details.

I guess if the Houthis want to go after a warship, now they know which one...
A little coordination here would be good...
A message to Trump. Don’t count on us.
Fog of war + computerized bots = complete confusion.
Wonderful.

keystone cops.
The Germans are still better than the Brits.
Their ships don’t have missiles…
If you want to see the state of today’s German military just watch reruns of Hogan’s Heroes. Colonel Klink and Sgt Schultz epitomize what it’s become.
Was it over when the Germans bombed the Reaper drone?
Back in 2015 the German Army ran a field training exercise. And due to equipment shortages, some of their tanks used broomsticks instead of machine guns.
So I’ve got to ask. Did the German ship fire a volley of broomsticks?
Side note to the Germans: Just kidding, guys. At least you’re there, and you’re trying.

For the curious, here’s the 2015 broomstick story:

Noted - I’m not sure why the YT link I posted pasted without being “hot”. (It works copy-pasted into a browser, tho.)
Thx.
It appears the Germans did do some earlier successful shootdowns. So much stuff in the Red Sea has to be dredged up, so to speak...

Is it possible some Reaper drones have ways to fool missiles coming at them?
I’m sure that the Iranians are taking notes.

There is NO reason for U.S. military involvement in this area.

Likely just a second transponder in a different frequency range. The program in the missile would disarm the warhead, detonate it early, or divert it off course.
