I've known of Mac's passing since 1/5 but couldn't say anything. I worked with Mac for two years at GSF. What a great and courageous kid. Faithful Christian as is the entire family. I've had cancer but that was a cakewalk compared to what Mac went through. He never complained.

It just amazes me that in this world with so many people who cause so many problems with crime, mental illness, and thirst for power, we also have people like the Sinise family, who serve others, battle disease with dignity and fearlessness, and bring joy with the way they go about their lives. Whenever I think we are doomed, I hear of inspirational people who handle the deepest tragedy with grace and love and faith. As much as I am saddened by the passing of this courageous young man, I am touched by the love expressed from his father. God truly works in mysterious ways.

I feel terribly sad for Gary Sinise’s loss of his son. The grief of losing one of your children is horrendous. I will pray for him and his family to receive comfort from God.
To: mgstarr
RIP Mac and sincere condolences to the Sinise family.

You wrote a powerful and touching post and tribute. Thanks.
It's weird that when I heard of another young man passing at first I thought "drugs." As silly as it sounds, I was relieved to learn it was cancer and not drugs that he died from.
May young McCanna rest in peace. The Sinises seem like an outstanding family.
Probably everybody here knows that Gary Sinise has done so much for our Veterans and First Responders. He launched and runs the Gary Sinise Foundation. If you didn't know, it's a fine organization and worthy of a donation.

Gary Sinise posted an incredible tribute to his son on his Gary Sinise Foundation web site. Nobody can read this and not be torn apart by the love of a father for his son.
Please take a few minutes to read Gary's tribute to his son. It will move you. It is really worth reading and reflecting on.

My heart goes out to his family. May it comfort them that he was a believer and is in glory. Thank you for sharing & God bless you, too.

I am so sorry for the family’s loss. What a tough battle!

Mac was Gary’s son, yet had a cubicle by a printer. Asked for nothing.
