Again, CBS is a media dump. I have zero doubt that they would LOVE to put “conservative” sources’ lives at risk.
That said, it is entirely plausible that the SOP of collecting a terminated employees’ laptop and files etc. is being hyper magnified with Herridge.
I suspect some of this magnification is because people have little idea that collection of property is SOP. This is the first recession since 2008 and thus it’s been 16 years since we’ve had mass firings. There are a lotta noobs in the workforce.
I also bet a bigly part of this magnification is from conservative paranoia. To be fair, it is well-founded paranoia.
What would help this story IMHO is a press release from the Union, some eyewitness testimony, and so on. You know…evidence, like in the good old days.

No question that the juice for this move by CBS comes directly from the White House and its minions in the FBI and other of its enthralled Departments.
A longtime Intelligence trooper like Catherine Herridge knows full well how to totally protect her most important sources.
