I believe you are right. There are NO countervailing forces to arrest the growth of lawfare. The trend is clearly more and more of this extra-legal abuse.

Yup. We have resisted turning the country into a kleptocracy like India or most Middle Eastern countries to this point in our history. But without a strong sense of Christian charity and morality pushing back (and there isn't anymore), that's where we are headed at a rapid clip. Everything will become "pay to play."

Exactly right. That is the single BIGGEST difference from our founding through the 1950s or 1960s. The numbers of people who believe in God or are part of a church are rapidly dwindling. The church response to those dwindling congregations? Adopt more “liberation theology” i.e., hardcore marxism.

And the doom loop accelerates.
