Lula, like Biden, fake and illegitimate.
Stolen elections have consequences in Brazil as well.
Lula is a Hitler. Genocide against native tribes in the Brazilian jungles, thousands killed and displaced.
Lots of Nazis lived well (and protected)in Brazil.
This imbecilic ahole skipped over Biafra, Kampuchea,Kurds in Iraq, Rwanda to name a few post WW2 genocides as if they never happened. His beloved fakestinians are exceptional. They are only people in history to be supplied with everything they need to survive by their supposedly genocidal opponents.
When you have nothing to stand on, you try to make it about anything else except what's going on in your country and under your administration.
For example, Gerhardt Schroeder former German chancellor was in office and ran on an entirely anti-Iraq war platform in 2002. But the Germans had no forces there, they weren't the ones enforcing the no fly and wheel zones, didn't have troops in the Kurdish areas, it wasn't their chancellor who had an assassination attempt made against him in Kuwait by the Iraqi intel service, they weren’t part of the 91 coalition... Why do they do this?
At the same time Schroeder was making Iraq into a common German household topic and dominating the German news, Germany was experiencing high inflation, high unemployment, a spike in crime, literally every social and economic indicator at the time was negative. Did Schroeder really want to talk about any of that?
***So, you take something which in all reality is “none of your GD business” and inject yourself, preferably on whatever side seems to be the most popular supported view.***
Desperation does not mean Lula or the party he's trying to back will lose, Schroeder won. But it does mean he knows he can't argue using the accomplishments of his administration. It's an election year in Brazil.
I felt like I was Eichmann on trial in Israel. Remember, this was just a few days after Iraq invaded, long before anyone responded. But I guess among Germans, the U.S. was always the bad guy, I guess because it was a foregone conclusion we would invade Iraq. I don't remember any shade being cast at Saddam Hussein. Boy, that was uncomfortable.
I bet.
Nice personal story.
IMHO, the Germans are a mass experiment in “group think” that went horribly wrong and worked!
There are some beutiful things about the Germans and their rule following (they are less corrupt than we are), how they create a mass consensus on everything and it’s expected to go along with that (everything is neat, organized and standardized), but it can also go horribly wrong and they will lockstep march off that cliff or stuff 6.5 million folks in ovens.
Ordnug muss sein!
The Germans are very trusting of authority in general, you do not question the doctor or Fuhrer, whoever that is. They will follow any rule to the maximum, even if it defies reason or morality. Rules have a purpose and you are a better person if you follow them! Personal thought is not appreciated. Rules must be followed because this world will fall into total chaos and disarray if people are left making any decisions or having any opinion on their own. In fact, even disagreeing with Covid and the official state narrative needs censored since opposing thought is dangerous: https://www.aa.com.tr/en/europe/german-gov-t-met-with-representatives-of-social-networks-in-2020-over-covid-related-posts-report/2797579 Thier level of censorship went far beyond ours. But IMHO almost all censorship should be stricken, even the crap we do in the name of public safety, national security, for the children, bla bla bla.
Some of my stories having lived there much of my life: They will dig through your trash and turn you in if you don’t recycle. But they are offended and do not understand when you say they really haven’t changed or learned much from the past.
If at a crosswalk and the man is red. Do not cross. Even if it is at night, no car is visibly coming and the road is dead as in minutes of no car coming by. Do not cross. The greater “intent” of a managed crosswalk does not matter. The man is red and the rule is you do not walk. If you do, you may get the evil eye.
The Germans really do not get when they are made out as rule following clowns in some especially older war movies. They think and say, “that’s not how we are” but the truth is when looking at them from the outside, that is exactly the way they are.
Don’t get me wrong, their commitment to follow the rules makes them excellent soldiers most of the time, but it’s also a weakness.
Six million people were murdered in The Holocaust, using modern industrial methods. There is no comparison.
Lula is either stupid, ignorant , or anti-Semitic. Or all three!
It’s not just the number. It’s isn’t like the Jews were attacking or committing terrorism in the 30’s.
As a German friend of mine told me, Germans are born followers and they think they’re better than everyone else. A bad combination….
He or she must know some utter airheads, I‘m sorry to say.
But what do I know - as an autistic, I‘m an alien everywhere - just in my country, it‘s somewhat less😄 unfamiliar.
My impression is that there are busybodies here, yes, but far more people in my town, which is dirty, rundown and ramshackle, live and work (very hard) and simply don‘t have any ambition or power, after the hard work of the day, to care about anything outside their family and home. They simply don’t give half a penny anymore.
Thank you for that thoughtful insightful reply. Tschuss!
What is the old saying regarding France vis a vis Germany? In France one can do whatever one likes, but must think the same as everyone else. In Germany, One must do the same as everyone else, but can think whatever they want.
You are welcome, and I hope I did not come across as offensive to you or to your German friend. It is just your friend’s acquaintances whom I wanted to criticize for their self-righteousness🙂
Thinking themselves better than anyone else? Do they really know „anyone else“?
OTOH, Red6 really has a point: in German society, conformism, finding a consensus and adhering to it, is much appreciated in many regards. It reminds me of the social mores called „law of Jante“ in the Scandinavian countries.
The Anglo-Saxon world (as we non Anglo-Saxons call it, without it being in any way derogatory, just descriptive) is clearly more individualistic in many regards, and, as anyone can tell, both world-views sometimes clash.
Still, the „Scando-German way“ has its merits in trying to create a harmonious whole - the Scandinavians, it is said, emphasize this trait even more.
Yes, and going the grain of a society in which one lives is generally going to cause some friction. - no matter where you are and who you are. That is regrettable, but unavoidable ☹️
That was amusing😀
I know a different version of this saying. It goes like this:
In England, everything is allowed which is not expressly forbidden;
In Germany, everything is forbidden which is not explicitly allowed;
In France, everything is allowed, even if it’s forbidden;
In Russia, everything is forbidden, even if it‘s allowed.😉

In the disUnited States everything is allowed that is expressly forbidden because evolution (progress/change) has bypassed what was once forbidden rendering it a white fascist social construct.
