BTW if those black slaves were so accomplished they could build antebellum houses why were they living in mud shacks in Africa ???

When set free, many just stayed where they were. Most slaves were expensive and hence were valuable to be taken care of. Free - they had to go the sharecroppers route which was brutal life. Most of us Southern heritage have most of our family tree full of sharecroppers, miners, loggers …. Most died fairly young. The south was never full of white plantation owners living off black slaves. It was a few working the poor whites to early deaths.
And were never even able to build a WHEEL!
