Congress tends to go the opposite way of the president.
She’s just pointing out the obvious.
the president usually has coattails when elected
Trump had the house and senate in 2016
it is the midterms where the house and/or senate switch
Popular MYTH.
In fact, TRIFECTAS dominate history (and I'm not even counting the first 'blue' trifecta on this chart, as Congress under Pierce and Buchanan was infested by Whigs -- hell even Rep. Abraham Lincoln was a Whig!). Even President Trump started with a trifecta, and will have one again at the beginning of TrumpII.
In that case, the same would apply if she were to win the WH. She’s saying that if Trump wins in a landslide, he will have no coat tails. I wouldn’t bet on that. The Dem brand has passed its expiration date two and a half years ago, after Kabul, East Palestine, inflation, the border, and runaway crime. Trump will have very long coat tails.
Congress is Deep State’s.
And unless we secure our elections AND run candidates who oppose Deep State, that’s the way it will stay.
Which may be Deep State’s fall back position if it can’t or doesn’t dare steal another presidential election.
