Sacramento, capital city of the EV-loving Golden State, is the latest city proposing to ban new gas stations or upgrading existing stations, unless of course you’re adding electric vehicle charging.
The government recently issued a 2040 Sacramento General Plan, first reported by OPIS, which calls for “future-ready” gas stations. The plan states that the “city shall prohibit the establishment of new gas stations or the expansion of new fossil fuel infrastructure at existing gas stations unless the project proponent provides 50kW or greater direct current fast charger (DCFC) electric-vehicle charging stations on site at a ratio of at least one new charging station per one new gas fuel nozzle.”
The plan also calls for setting up requirements for EV charging infrastructure in new and expanded gas stations citywide...

(I know, I know, but this is somewhat balanced in approach)
EV charges at corner gas stations? So the entire parking lot will be filled with cars, all waiting to charge up?
Right!
Though on second thought, maybe it is not a great idea to mix the two, at all.
Maybe not.
California doesn't want either. They want everyone to take the trains, trolleys, and city buses, and fend off the ferals who ride them for free.
If my choice is ride public transportation with blacks, or live in the woods and eat squirrels…
Sacramento is now the city of the walking dead. Mayor Steinberg is the reason. It used to be one of the nicest large cities in the country.
In a couple of years you will have all these charging stations with all the people driving ICE or hybrids. The copper thieves will have a ball cleaning up on the abandoned charger stations.
What sane person would invest money in building a new gas station in CA or any blue state?
Any new border wall construction in ‘25 and beyond has got to include the Kalifornia state line.
Out of control government remains out of control.
Build a gas station that does both, with a little solar panel and windmill to power the EVs.
fine ... build all the new gas stations you want right OUTSIDE of Sacramento ...
It takes a few minutes to fill a gas tank - it takes hours to charge an EV...
Someone can’t do the math but since that works in our favor, best to accept this offer.
Huh.
High-power electrical systems at gas stations.
What could POSSIBLY go wrong??
Stop fuel truck deliveries to Sacramento... Today.
No truck deliveries with diesel tractors... no fuel trucks... nothing. CUT IT ALL OFF NOW.
Let ‘em sit in the dark a while until they sober up.
The flood would be by the water use the put out all the fires. Just think mixing gasoline with EV”S, you will not need a match. BOOM there go another gas station.
The explosions are going to be awesome.
Maybe we can store piles of magnesium there too.
Grant their wish. Less supply, higher prices, more profit for gas station owners, oil companies, and investors. Everybody wins except the idiots in Sacto who vote these dingbats into office.
You want to know where the busiest gas station in Sacramento is?
Costco.
