The judge who presided over a civil business fraud trial against Donald Trump and his company has issued his decision in the case.
Judge Arthur Engoron ordered the former president and the Trump Organization to pay over $364 million in damages, and bars Trump "from serving as an officer or director of any New York corporation or other legal entity in New York for a period of three years."
The judgment is the second this year against Trump after he was hit last month with an $83.3 million verdict in writer E. Jean Carroll's defamation case against him. The former president could also face four criminal trials this year as his presidential campaign barrels toward the November election, with the first set to begin in New York state court on March 25th.
New York Attorney General Letitia James had been seeking $370 million from Trump, his company and its top executives, including his sons Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, alleging "repeated and persistent fraud" that included falsifying business records and financial statements. James had argued those financial statements were at times exaggerated by as much as $2.2 billion.

Doubtful that the 8th Amendment is in play as this was a civil action. The 14th Amendment (Due Process Clause) may provide an avenue for relief.

He can’t sue a NY Judge and a NY AG in Florida for their judicial and prosecutorial acts. They have absolute immunity from suit.

If the judge screwed up because of political considerations it will be overturned.
You have an utterly misplaced faith in the judicial system of New York. I shall not be surprised that this doesn't get corrected until it reaches Federal court, and depending on who the Federal Judges are for that area, probably not even then.
Democrat judges, and Democrat appointed judges, and quite a lot of Republican appointed judges, are just lying, corrupt, arrogant little tyrants, who don't care what the law says, they will just do what they want.

Trump will absolutely get these judgments reversed in the SC if not sooner. Here’s why:
Everyone knows these cases are part of a coordinated election interference scheme - and if the SC does not toss them out, the American voting public will see them as being complicit. Believe me, SC Justices do NOT want to be seen as complicit in rigging elections!

I didn't say what you have quoted above. I quoted it from someone else who said it.
I think the whole Judicial system in New York is corrupt, and I just said previously that I don't think he will get any relief until he gets to the Federal courts, and possibly not until he gets to the Supreme court.
The legal system in New York which is allowing this is utterly corrupt.
