My Mom kept a lot of cash on hand. As in, around $500. Someone keeping 10K+cash lying around is, at a minimum, stupid.
Better yet, she testified that she doesn’t keep the cash in her house, she keeps it wherever she lays her head. Uh huh.
I’ve known people who kept as much as 10K around. But they were elderly people who didn’t trust banks, and/or were hiding it from stingy husbands :-)
I agree. It’s why I thought what my mother in law did was stupid, and yet. She had more than 10k on her or near her all the time.
When my father in law was admitted to the hospital for heart surgery she demanded a private room, and got it when she produced cash to pay.
